yeah we had to. plus you have to have it out when you slide the new turbo back there. the 30r series turbos are massive compared to the stock k04.

last time i did it i took the mani off by myself in about an hour flat. after that you undo the oil and coolant lines (dont forget a vise grips!!!!) to clamp off the coolant line lol or you will be buying more coolant.

after that once you get the new oil return line on the turbo will pretty much be secure. then its all about putting it all back together. to be honest the part i hate the most was putting the big tip on. fuck that lol

lol well the cp-e tip isnt the greatest. The part i hated was the metal insert you use for a cai. if you dont have it perfect itll pop off.

eric it may or may not be. Ive been trying to monitor my coolant level but if its leaking, its a really slow leak now. Before i was bad.

so atp put together an oil and coolant feed package for guys that dont do the drop in. its 195. its a bit steep but you dont have to modify anything and it makes a plain 30r series turbo a complete drop in. not a bad idea if you can get a used 30r turbo for cheap.

I'll bet it doesn't include the low profile turbine housing bolt or a shortened oil return line, thus still requiring you to cut the OEM line. I kept asking them what was in their MS3 and MS6 line/fastener packages and they wouldn't give me an answer. I have a list of what's actually required for ATP 30R's but until someone actually buys those kits, nobody here knows what's actually included.

Unless you get a great deal on an ATP 30R, get a T3 30R with T3 EWG Steedspeed manifold. If it's a Garrett 30R all the lines and fittings will be the same as the ATP version but T3 would be better.

hey triple i will be ordering that kit tomorrow and when i get it in i will make sure and post pics in my bt thread and all that.

ive been calling atp for a while now asking if they could just sell me the complete ms3 drop in oil and coolant line package and this is what they posted. anyways i will keep you posted on what my findings are

I'm most concerned with fabrication work.

TBH (I know I'm being a bitch), I'd rather have 30 less HP than have to have fab work done.

Driver 311's setup is pretty much plug and play, and although he is running e-85, I think I'd be happy with that set-up with meth and 93 octane pump gas.

finkle that is the exact reason im doing that atp ewg hotside. no fab needed and still get the benefit of ewg.

ATP's customer service sucks. George is never available on the phone and the other phone people just tell you to email their tech guys with questions, who may or may not reply to your emails.

Their customer support is definitely no Grimmspeed.

How much extra does that turbine housing cost? There are plenty of shops that can easily make a screamer pipe or even recirc it into your exhaust. My screamer pipe took an hour to build and exits the driveshaft tunnel next to the downpipe.

thank you ray. being that this was my first turbo'ed car i didnt want to go a route that caused me to depend on someone else to fab work for me which is why i did the drop in kit. I mean we have dustin as a great resource but hes swamped as is. He doesnt need another person asking for this and that.

you are spot on. hopefully i get everything needed. also i will be ordering 9 (10mm) studs for the dp and turbo flange and the pretty copper nuts from them. after one heat cycle they turn gray

the good thing is have a t3 hot side sitting at home waiting for when i get sick of the atp flange and have enough money for a ss mani oh and sex slave sounds perfect. i will already be all lubed up after i get done working we can get down to business.

Even if you wanted to upgrade the mani with the steedspeed, you could get the EWG option and cap it with the caps grimmspeed makes. (they make both 38 and 44 mm caps for ewg's)

It's two feet of piping that any reputable fabricator can make in his sleep, not an equal length turbo manifold being made by a Russian muffler shop.

i know the atp hotside will satisfy my craving for a while. once i max that out with my secrect goodies as well i will be going towards more power.

finkle i think you will be more then happy with the atp hotside making over 400hp and over 400wtq.
