Think my boost is gone

This is a stock ms6 with 96k miles on it. Just yesterday I've noticed that I don't get the surge driving around town. So I kept pushing it and with steady throttle the Rpms just went up steadily past 3500 all the way up to 5500.

I dont have a boost gauge so I don't have a before and after pressure numbers.

Needing suggestions on how to diagnose without having to take to a shop.

BOOST IS BASED ON LOAD NOT RPMS. STEADILY INCREASING YOUR RPMS WITHOUT INDUCING ENGINE LOAD WILL NOT CREATE BOOST NOR IS IT ANY WAY OF TESTING FOR IT. YOU CAN HAVE VACUUM ALL THE WAY TO REDLINE. THERE CAN BE A NUMBER OF THINGS CONTRIBUTING TO THE LOSS OF "SURGE"

1) HEAT SOAK
2) PSYCHOLOGICAL
3) SOMETHINGS BROKEN
4) BOOST LEAK

WITHOUT A GAUGE OR A SCAN TOOL/OBD READER IM AFRIAD THERE IS NO REAL WAY OF TELLING HOW MUCH BOOST YOU ARE PRODUCING. CHECK YOUR BOOST TUBES (COUPLERS) TO YOUR INTERCOOLER. ALSO YOU MAY WANT TO PRESSURE THE SYSTEM (GOOGLE)

BUT FIRST I HIGHLY ADVISE YOU TO GET SOME SORT OF MONITORING DEVICE. IF YOU ARE TIGHT ON CASH THEN YOU CAN GET A CHEAP MECHANICAL BOOST GAUGE FROM AUTOZONE OR PEPBOYS. IF YOU NEED ADDITIONAL HELP FEEL FREE TO PM ME.

I vote heat soak. Summer temps + TMIC = much less power.

Im doubting heat soak. I can run it in the foggy morning and results are the same.
Psychological- probably true. I've only had the car for couple of months and just driving around town it would nudge my head back unexpectedly but not anymore. That's just regular driving and not WOT.

I do have a cheap scan tool but I figure it won't tell me anything since there is no CEL (correct?).

Looks like I'm going to need a boost gauge. Where do I plumb the line to get a pressure reading? I have access to some gauges at work that I think I can fashion as a temporary diagnostic tool.

What are symptoms of a broken waste gate or bov?
I cant hear the turbo spool before or after while driving. Can I listen for it in the engine bay if someone revs my engine?

You can probably use the scan gauge to get manifold pressure. Subtract 14 from that (usually what atmospheric psi is) and you should get approx boost. Or buy an ultra gauge for $60 and do the same..

dude, if you still have stock tmic, it's easy as hell to check for boost leaks.

Yep, when I was stock TMIC, those balloon boost tubes would loosen up all the time. T-bolts FTMFW.

ona serious note you dont have ANY of the required tools to properly diagnose this. you need at least a AFR gauge and a boost gauge.

can your scan tool read ltft and afr and boost im guessing not
