TMIC Temp Check

Just curious what you upgraded TMIC people are seeing today for BATs. Was 33 this morning and I was seeing 80-90 in stop and go traffic and red lights. cruising at 45 was seeing solid 80.

Ive been seeing 20-60 over ambient with colder temps on my tmic. I have heat shielding and in warmer temperatures I see 6-60 above ambient depending on driving.

The boost air temps are read in the intake manifold, which will heatsoak no matter what and skew your BAT data. Do a quick hit to get a lot of fresh air moving through the core and over the sensor and you'll see your BATs tank.

While cruising I usually saw 20-30 degrees above ambient in the heat. I havnt checked now that its getting cooler.

This is with an ETS TMIC. Which intercoolers are you running?

CS TMIC here, my BATs tend to hover about 20ish above IAT unless I'm in especially heavy stop/go traffic. Also have JBR TIG on the throttle body and unplugged EGR, for whatever additional minor difference those may make.

Like @Voltwings; said, you have to give it some throttle for it to make any sense. If you look at WOT logs, they generally start high, and fall off fairly rapidly until they may start to creep back up by the end. As long as the TMIC itself isn't heat soaked, they work great.

My BATs are usually 10 - 20°F below ambient, because Meth :-)

No log of the run because spur of the moment, but this shows peak BAT/IAT after putting a ricer in his place on my way to pick up the wife; grabbed the photo a few minutes afterward when I thought of this thread. 30* ambient temp.

With my cpe tmic, thermal gasket between the throttle body and the intake manifold and a thermal gasket between the intake manifold and the block, egr delete, coolant reroute I am seeing the same temps you are. Except mine was 111. Time for meth to cool that intake charge. That's my plan.

Yeah, me to

I have a shrouding project going on. It has so far ^ recovery times
decreased soak amounts

NOT reduced the inevitable crawl upwwards during WOT logs

My BATs are usually around 30 degrees higher than my air intake temp if I'm steadily cruising and not sitting for long periods of time.



You can see here I did an 18 psi pull and it barely even rose.

only mods are CP-E TMIC, CS intake and cold air intake box.
