| Not Ranked : 0 score Hey bud, Most of the people on this forum are going to flame the sh8t out of you with questions like that. You need to read more and use google lol. Anyway, no it's not necessary to get a TIP for a stage 1 Cobb tune. Cobb has different maps for different setups; 1 for just an intake, 1 for intake + TIP, 1 for intake + TIP + IC they also have just stock, etc. \ If you're going to run a COBB OTS please make sure you purchase an intake they have MAF calc'd on their website. If not, purchase Stratified OTS Regards, Eric Nelson

Lots of threads arguing ad nauseum about this, with little or no evidence of any improvement, as the stock TIP, regardless if its odd shape, actually flows better than the stock K04 can actually use. The most benefit, if any, is marginally quicker spool on a small turbo that already spools extremely fast. Put the money where you can actually see gains.
