Default Turbo Oil Return Line

Can you all look at the pictures attached? I changed my Exhaust Manifold today and had to unbolt this line. When I took it out, I was curious to know if the bent in the curb supposed to be there.

Can someone look and verify my pipe/line to make sure it is not bent?

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, the last pic is of my PG Manifold.

Thanks,

why did you take this off in the first place? installing any mani on this car should not require it to be removed.

I couldn't line up the top 4 manifold bolts and this line was holding the turbo. When I removed it, it freed up everything and the manifold slid in the bolts.

Does the line look ok?

still a little confused.i know you have the v3 but i have the pg v2 and didn't have a single problem. everything lined up and install was easy. no matter what you shouldn't have had to remove that line.

i can't tell ya if that looks correct since it's dark out and i can't get under my car.

The head bolts lined up perfectly but it was the top 4 bolts that wouldn't line up. I removed the bracket that holds the back of the turbo to the block and it still didn't line up. We were pushing the turbo back so they would fall in but the line was not allowing it so I removed the line.

I know I have the version3 manifold but don't know why I was having such a hard time.

I will appreciate if you can look under car tomorrow,

thanks.

I helped install a manifold and the turbo bent the line in that fasion, when flexing it trying to get mani on, we simply bent it str8, NO its not supposed to be like that, its gotta keep circle shape, and be carefully you dont flex too much to fast youll literally break it. its not an issue, stretch it back out and rebolt it. its a full stainless steel line, just be gentle with it.

only thing that might be different from my install and yours is the 4 bolts. did you take the studs off to install mani? i had three of the four studs come out from the turbo when trying to loosen the nuts.

install was much easier since i just had to slip the mani onto the head. i then double nutted the studs onto the turbo flange side. everything lined up and i had no problems.

So my line did bent? So should I take it off and stretch it back out?

What would happen if I run the car with that line bent?

First off It was not a problem with the manifold, nor did this guy have issue with manifold, its just hard to get it over the 20 bolts with turbo where it sits, and we had to push turbo down a lil to get it on, and we unbolted turbo from bracket. moved turbo, flexed oil line some, got the mani on, flexed it back and rebolted everything.

Just realize for a second how long the studs on turbo and the exauhst heads are, its impossible to get it in there without moving turbo, And if u did it without unoblting turbo .... then I guess youe a god ?

Your line is way more bent then what we had it, but we noticed it was bending in our efforts to install the manifold. so we jsut watched it close and tried not to make it worse..

I would carfully stretch it out to reduce that bend for it causes restricition which may aid our smoking turbo issues, I would fix it

the one i installed was a DNP manifold, we also did full cpe turbo back on his car, and same time we installed cpe dp on my car.

Call mark at Street unit (check my signature, their phone was having issues today), he will help you with that, also I would post int he for sale section "WTB STOCK OIL RETURN LINE FOR STOCK TURBO" Guarantee someone has it for sale, I have one but not willing to get rid of my stock parts incase of zoom zoom boom, ill need stock parts to get new block

ALso the mani i helped with all studs stayed in turbo, and prolly so did this guys thats why we had to move turbo.

i bought a new one of those lines.
it was like 100 bucks with gaskets or w/e and bolts.
you can buy it from the dealer but they might ask for vin and void warranty.
search the web for it or call mark at SU he`ll hook that shit up or tell you where.

They were asking questions when I bought 175 dollars in stock bolts. I told them it was too late I was voided over a year ago. Can't kill me twice....
