Default VCTS troubleshooting

Well, with emissions coming up, i need to clear this up.

For a long while, I had my VCTS deleted. It was nice to have a bit of extra power from a mild port job on the intake manifold.

Well now, its time to pass emissions, and I need to get rid of the CEL to do so.

Speedsixxx and i made a swap, my ported manifold with VCTS delete, for his stock manifold. win win for both parties.

Well, i got it installed, and what do you know? i still have VCTS codes. P2004, and P2010. I get 2010 even with the VCTS gone.

I know there was an adjustment procedure for the actuator, but that would cause P2006.

P2004: Variable swirl control system shutter valve stuck open

P2010: Variable swirl solenoid valve control circuit high input

I've attached both Service Manual Documents, and have noted common "possible causes" of short to power along 2AS to terminal b, and ECM malfunction.

My intentions are to try to run a jumper from the ecu at 2AS to the solenoid, hopefully avoiding a short to power.... my fear is that there is an ECU malfunction on the VCTS circuit because i had the VCTS deleted like SSinstaller, with the diode and everything, and eventually the VCTS CEL trick stopped working, and the vcts came back, so either, it developed a short or the ecu developed a problem.

Anyone else have any other ideas?

P2010 is fairly easy to diagnose, clear your codes then unplug the solenoid at the vacuum reservoir on the top of the IM... After a short while you should now be throwing p2009 instead of p2010. If you are, swap in a know good vacuum solenoid, if you are still getting p2010 you have a wiring problem, or a PCM issue.

You will need to fix the solenoid issue before you can really do anything about the p2004...

I still have the original VTCS delete circuit on my vehicle, it's been going strong for about two years now... You can adjust the plunger mounting bracket, but this code is most likely from the vacuum solenoid not working properly..

I did. At some point even with the relay the codes came back.

No, i have not fixed this yet. In all honesty, the VCTS was a mess to get back. The harness plugs were cut off so that i could wire in the relay.

Anything else I should replace while I'm at it? Is a bad ground a possible cause notice 2 corroded grounds on the passenger side wheel well. 2006 speed6 gt.

It's not going to be the blackbox part. p2009 is a low voltage code.

Ok visually can't see any wire problems. The did happen after in rinsed off my engine bay. Could it be just the solenoid part on the black box.
