Default Video: is this the reason I lose a quart a month?

I took a video of the shaft play on my 06 MS6. It seems to me to have a crap load of shaft play. It also loses about a quart of 5w40 a month.

No idea if this is the reason but it looks like it is a BNR time anyway.

Meh, you already have a core, just send it in, install the new turbo, and enjoy making power to +7000 rpms. In terms of smiles per dollar, you cannot beat this investment.

When I did some reading about this, my takeaway was the CHRA axis in/out was likely to have play if your seals were blown, and the side to side is reasonably common and safe provided you aren't contacting the housing.

How much residue was in the TIP? You get backwash every time you leave boost, so there should be a greasy coating well up inside it.

I swear I've read about the K04s having a good amount of play with the engine off due to no oil pressure in the CHRA. Is your turbo smoking? Have you done a compression test? Is there oil in the TMIC or charge piping?
