The guys who installed the Xede (Chiptorque) do the installs for the Mazda Racing Targa cars in Aus. They also did the MPS Extreme that some of you may have heard about (was unveiled at a motor show as a concept car). I am pretty sure they know what they are doing. Like the CP-E option it is just a piggyback unit but hell, it sorted my car out.

I have the same mods as Cosmic but 17psi not 19pi. I only know of 1 person that has had a fuel cut. It was happening constantly regardless of whether it was 10F or 90F weather. He had an Apexi CAI (turned out it was modeled straight off the WRX). He replaced it with another brand and the cut stopped. That is the only case of fuel cut i have heard of happening in Australia and it was due to a poorly designed intake, not a lack of fuel.

There are full bolt on cars getting around here which don't require more fuel. There is a full bolt on + high flowed stock turbo here that runs on the stock pump and doesn't have fuel issues. The TurboXS car here has every MPS bolt on and runs fine on the stock pump and no cut.

In saying that, you guys are the one's with fuel issues so i wouldn't listen to what an Australian car is doing because it seems stock fueling is better than the US cars. If it wasn't, all the Ozzies would be crying about having no fuel which we don't.

BTW i'll be upgrading to either a TMIC or the TXS FMIC very soon and then having the Xede dyno tuned.

The car has bolt-ons (see my sig) mainly just an exhaust and intake that would produce any power gains. Interestingly, my dyno results before the Xede with the mods were almost the same as stock which I think is just the matter of the ECU managing to counter anything that you do to these cars. Unless you take some kind of control over ECU this will always happen. The Xede in a sense restored all of the mod gains that were in time overridden by the ECU. As FlogBox points out, fuel cut never seems to be an issue down here but we don't have some of the extreme temp changes that you guys do and maybe that has some relevance. I wonder if cars in say Hawaii or Florida (similar climates to AUS) would experience fuel cut like some of the colder parts of the US?

Yes, you can download base maps from Xede and make adjustments on a laptop and load a new tune (can also save down your original tuned map). Timing, fuel, and boost are all adjustable. You can also store dual maps. I have mine set up for different fuel grades (sometimes 98 octane is not available where I live and I can only puchase 95).

Cheers

And just to back up what Cosmic says above, i found the exact same thing to happen with my car. I put on the TBE, K&N panel filter, bov and the car's power basically didn't budge from stock. Once i put the Xede in, it was power city For some reason you guys in the US don't seem to have this problem? Maybe Mazda gave you better ECU's and shit fuel pumps and we got shit ECU's and great fuel pumps ooooohhh the irony!

the only thing that really would have improved your power is the exhaust, but it should have done wonders for you. that's strange. maybe the aus cars have freer flowing exhaust than the american ones too. we have crazy emissions standards here.

100 Octane is also available at some selected stations (Shell V-Power Racing)

The gains were definately there when the mods were first added but after a few drives it all disappears as the ECU adapts (Mazda's shitty reflashes at service time certainly didn't help either, pay for the 'wow' factor and then they take it away. Not any more though!).
