(Thread Starter) |   Not Ranked : 0 score  Will inlet make hks ssqv louder? I'm thinking about getting a turbo inlet but will it make the hks sound quieter or louder? I've heard people say both so i figured i'd see what other people have to say. Also, i love how the hks ssqv sounds in this vid. Is it because of his inlet? Or because he has a fmic? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score If you get the silicone inlet then it will be quieter, metal one louder. The cobb tip made my ts bpv silent in the first 3 gears.

An inlet will make it loud as hell. An FMIC + inlet will make it even louder.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Oh okay I see who you are now. I thin kthe FMIC has a lot to do with how loud it is. I know it got a lot louder after I installed it. I have the HKS SSQ III if that makes a difference. I dont know what version you have. Also felt is a big ol' faggot.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Well i finally got the PG inlet installed.. The install went way longer than expected. I didn't realize how much you needed to take out to get to the inlet. The real problem came when i was taking off the hose on the inlet to the boost solenoid i think its called.. Anyways the plastic piece broke and i thought i was screwed, but after fuckin around with it for awhile i was able to get the hose to fit over what was left of the plastic piece. As far as impressions.. Fuel trims seem to be a little better than what they were with just the cobb intake. Spool seems quicker and louder, and the hks valve has an "owl hoot" at real low boost and when it's in low vacuum values. Medium and full boost the hks actually sounds quieter. I didn't notice any increase in HP but i wasn't expecting too. Overall, i'm happy with it. I got it for $52 bucks so you can't beat that. I just wish i didn't break off that stupid plastic piece during install. |
