(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ok, update after day 2, it is not actually that bad, will try a larger steering wheel before I decide if I should go back to power steering. The steering rack was depowered using the guidelines provided by Flyin' Miata which included cutting out the inner seal inside the rack. The power steering pump has a shaft and bearing, all the holes are capped, and the pump has engine oil inside. Some pictures.  Edit: You also want to run 3.5* caster or less. Eric_Joseph likes this.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I will be putting a genpu idler on, need to find it used as it is like $200 new, wtf. Looping the lines on the rack will work, but not as well as cutting the inner seal and packing the rack with grease, give it a try and see.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I dont see this happening w/o dropping subframe. Unable to get the hard to reach bolt on rack from top. I guess I need to undo bottom of strut forks on front LCS to subframe will drop lower. IDK if will make it so I can get that last bolt. Taking longer than I had planned. Would have been much easier to replaced when the engine was out...

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Got the Whiteline W53395 caster bushings installed and caster went from 4.2/3.9 to 3.3/3.1, now the car is finally driveable and I can turn the wheel with one hand in parking lots once the car starts moving. You install the bushing such that the offset hole is facing the front of the car, which pushes the rear lower control arm back.
