Half fail. Swaybars

So I decided to take today to install swaybars, both front and rear and fmic. I couldnt get to the fmic and could only do half of the install of the sway bars. The end links are damn near impossible to get off. We ended up stripping/rounding out the nuts that are attached from the endlinks to the rear swaybar. After 4 hours of hell, we finally got the rear installed. Alot of time was running around town gathering tools and getting those two bolts off .

It just sucks though cause I have to take the car to a shop to finish the job, we just cant get the nuts off. We tried pb blaster, open end wrenches, sockets, air/impact drill. I just dont want to round out the nuts like the rear bar, ended up having to use a plumber wrench and vice grip.

tldr; installed rsb, cant install fsb, gotta get the shop to do it. fffuuuuuu

if you can't install a rear sway bar, you need to rethink every other mod you had planned for the car.
ps - the endlink rods have allen holes in em so you don't strip the nuts.

Wow this is ironic lol. I was just doing brake pads last night and decided to hit some other stuff while I was in that area already, so I decided to put some poly bushings on the end links to hopefully solve my front suspension noise... I got both the top end link nuts off with no problem, then both bottoms just got completely stuck right near the end. Tried everything to get them off and finally gave up after I snapped a wrench on it. IDK what the fuck is up with those damn end link bolts but they make life hellllll.

Alright philly, I agree, for what I've been able to do with no problem on this car, yesterday was a major fail... but to my surprise, putting bushings on the top end link bolts actually quieted it down a ton, so it's all good.

If you think you can install a FMIC and both front and rear sway bars in this car in one day you are overestimating yourself.

Take a day to do the front bar and another for the FMIC.

nice, i will agree that the endlinks suck. i had stockers, awr, and then back to stockers and they were all noisy as fuck.

If you live in an area with harsh winters then I'll go easy on you lol. Mazda didn't really use quality bolts on the endlinks. I'm in California and mine are rusted pretty bad. Never had it this bad on my previous car which saw over 200K.

I've found that WD40 and a little heat works pretty good. Do you use antiseize?

you don't use antiseize on those nuts, you use loctite.

Yea, I know it sucks and I know there's an allen wrench you have to use. I've installed coilovers,fuel pump,intake,and thermostat. I know I can do the install, its just these damn cheap nuts getting rounded

I did Intake, FMIC, Downpipe, and WGA in one night in a driveway on one jack stand lol. That was before the rust though

Who said anything about the nut lol. Exposed thread ends only. At least 2mm from intersection of bolt. Low friction moly lubricant.

Impact wrench FTW.

It's easier to get the end links off the swaybar if you jack the rear wheels up so the car is not resting on the jack stands (compress the suspension to "normal"), and unbolt the sway bar brackets. Then the link bolts come right out of the bar because you can slide it back and forth to get some more play for removing the links.

After the link nuts have been removed of course. Loosen them first.

^I'll try it eric. When I did try before I used a 550lbs torque impact wrench. It shook the hell out of everything, but no luck. It looks like I have to buy new front adjustable endlinks anyways? Im on bc coilovers now

^Im also gonna try that. I just picked up a 40" breaker bar. Mainly just to have, I know that I need to put an allen wrench inside, but maybe this will do something. Right now it wont even spin, worst comes to worst, auto shop followed by suicide
