Default CX7 turbo won't start security light flashing

My first post folks. Hope you can help. The key goes in,turns, dash lights up but no ignition. Security light started flashing. We tried jumping it,no good.I then disconnected the battery trying to cancel out what ever caused this,no good. Towed it to a local shop for the weekend. Monday morning the car starts for the shop. No dash lights flashing. So we take her home only to have her not start again the next day. Any ideas before I tow her to the dealer? Thanks

Um I had a similar issue like this in my speed. I ended up replacing the ECU as it went bad.

Here is the thread with suggestions:

Security light on and car wont start

Best of luck.

Yeah, my car didnt start two or 3 times, but then eventually did. Then one day, just gave up the ghost. I ended up getting a used ecu and a friendly deal to re-flash it for me.

Thank you Maisonvi and Spdtrux, I did read that thread Maisonvi. I need the car, unfortunately, so I think it's off to the dealer with it. Sure hope it's not the ecu. Wish I could pop it Spdtrux. But it's not a wise thing to do at my age,and I think the automatic tranny wouldn't like it to much either. Thanks any,73

Yeah I had a rough 2 weeks bumming rides while it was down, so I feel your pain there.

a few things i would do 1st before going all crazy... (sorry if you already tried these steps but ill restate them just in case)

1) replace batteries in keyless remote
2) try starting the car using the detachable key removed from the keyless remote
3) make sure the keyless remote is not touch or interfering with any other electroincs (if put right on an iPhone, the car cannot sense the keyless remote. this happens all the time for me)

note: it is recommended to turn the key from off > acc > on > start then directly to OFF before restarting. sometimes, the ECU needs to do a soft reset in order to enable the starter.

i believe if all this fails, then resort to plan B... FREAK OUT! jk look at other possible issues. ie: ecu replacement/reflash etc
