Default Uprgrade info for those with Bose systems

So I have a 2007 CX-7 with the factory nav and Bose system. It's not working (doesn't load CD's and Nav doesn't turn on). I'm basically looking at having to, at a minimum replace the head unit with one from eBay and price starts at $300 for a used head unit with Nav screen.

Did some research to find out what it would take to upgrade to a navigation ready CD/DVD player that has Bluetooth and a lot of other features and came up with an affordable solution. First off, if you want to retain your SWC Steering Wheel Controls, you'll need a unit called PAC RP4-MZ11. They can be had on eBay for about $90-100 USD. This will cover Bose and non-Bose systems with steering wheel control and all of the Bose issues everyone asks about due to different Ohms, etc... No need to get the unit I'll mention below.

If you just want the Bose conversion and don't care about the SWC's, just get PAC MAZATO for about $45-50 USD. Also on eBay.

So that leaves the Navigation / Radio unit to get. I found the Power Acoustik PDN-626b unit to have good reviews and be easy on the budget.

Amazon.com : Power Acoustik PDN 626B Double Din AM/FM/DVD/BT 6.2-Inch with Navigation : ElectronicsAmazon.com : Power Acoustik PDN 626B Double Din AM/FM/DVD/BT 6.2-Inch with Navigation : Electronics

You'll want to get a dash kit from Scosche MA1533B or whatever brand you find that fits your CX-7. Link is for no-name brand.

That's all. Just thought if someone was in the same boat I am that it would be nice to have all of the relevant info on 1 thread. You should be able to use ANY double DIN radio with the above mentioned adapters. No need to worry about specific "compatibility" with Bose. Hope this helps.

I'm able to piece together a complete system and junk the factory one for $261.00 if I do it myself. Not bad...
