(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Yeah dropping the pan is really the way to go I see now. A ton of shavings make their way in...yeah you can rinse it out with mineral spirits and stuff, but it definitely won't all be draining out. As mentioned on MT.net, I probably should have welded a bung on, but I hadn't planned ahead enough to make that happen, didn't wanna leave the motor sitting apart for a week. I got it on there super snug though, with some rtv to help seal it all and keep it in place...I think it will be fine. Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk |

| Not Ranked : 0 score The BP pans leak at the ends where the 2 rubber gaskets are. Use the best permatex you can find (black stuff) or OEM sealant or you will have leaks. I did on my fresh BP build after a few k miles. Also seal it carefully and seal the bolts in as well. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm digging the build aaron, if I keep the car I plan on going gt2871r most likely and run 10-12 lbs.. hoping for the 250hp neighborhood too but I'll be using AEM EMS and most likely running meth just to be on the safe side. I can't wait to see what numbers you put down and how you like it, I like your setup a lot. Perfect for DD and still being able to kick ass.. |

Yeah my turbo kinda small, but I figure there's probably good reason that Begi, FM etc all use this as their standard/preferred stock block turbo. theres guys pushing 300 with it, so i should be able to sit at 250ish comfortably! i will be running meth/water as well, just to protect me from my own crappy tunes lol |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Yeah, I still need to trim it a little most likely, but I didn't want to set it outside the car...as I wasn't sure how much the AC compressor would get in the way. I feel like the oil feed line is way long, but I'll find some way to make it fit not awkwardly I hope. A lot of little stuff still needs to be tweaked that I would like to fix before I use it... the coolant hose off the new spacer behind the motor is kinked a little, I don't know if it will go away once there's fluid in it, but I might need to pull that back end of and cut it a little shorter...i'm not sure but either way dreading that and the guaranteed bloody knuckles that i will get from it. Gonna take a change of clothes to work, incase I feel like working on it again this evening |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Well, 4 day weekend ftw. Auto hobby closed this weekend, but I got more stuff done yesterday. I'd guess 1 more day of work and I can get it started up...just a lot of little loose ends to tie up cuz I am doing a lot of crap all at once.. I'm making a detailed 'to do" list so hopefully I don't forget/aren't missing any parts next time I head over there so I can finally wrap it all up (minus FMIC and tuning, of course). Basically need to connect a few things, extend a few wires.... add fluids.... then it's done. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score well she runs. had to get the air out of the fuel lines and get it all primed up...but once it did started right up. coolant temp sensor is reporting 180 F regardless, so something is wrong with it. The dash/car temp sensor works... so it's something on the Megasquirt side. AFR stuff is messed up too, gauge doesnt display anything and ECU side its either all over the place or a constant reading...so another ECU wiring issue or it could be due to where the sensor is located right at the end of the downpipe (running open downpipe) which could make it read way leaner than it really is. Either way...drove it home today, won't be able to do much work on it though for a few months...but still was a great day. Big thanks to messiahx and cataphract for helping out (Steve and Dan). I might start to troubleshoot this crap a little, but probably not too much. Vids coming |
