(Thread Starter) | Neutral : +1 score Here are my results: First I masked of the area (yes i sprayed the painted area, don't be scared) First coat of Plasti Dip (I was a bit nervous that I sprayed it like that) After the third coat I began to peel away parts of the Plasti Dip Finished product, I waited around 20-30 mins in between each coat. The excess plasti dip came off without any trouble. The mazdaspeed emblem, same process as the other emblem. Just a bit tricky taking all the excess paint off because of the tight grooves. I used a very thin flat head. Buddy of mine took the pictures with his cell, im still waiting for more If only I knew about this stuff a few years ago and if you get bored of the look. Simply peel it off.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score LOL!!! I did it this way because I did not want to go through the trouble of re-applying the thin 3m tape for the rear emblems (which i don't have). I did take off the front emblem if that makes it better ![]() And oh10speed3 My friends thought I would be going home with a black box and black rectangle on my trunk. But everything worked out lol

| Not Ranked : 0 score +1 what's lazy about it? same results as taking them off/sanding/painting/reapplying without and of those steps. extremely durable stuff and removable whenever you want. i've been looking for this stuff forever but its scarce up here in canada. the dippable stuff is easy enough to find, but the spray is non existent.

| Not Ranked : 0 score At least it turned out good. I had a friend that painted his emblems black or some shit on his Tiburon. I remember him coming over to my house in a panic to show me, since he thought it looked so good. I walk outside and there were these huge bubbles in the paint. Looked like hist.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Plasti Dip also works on steel shift knobs. I put five coats on my TWM, the next day it sat out in 100+ all day long. The knob was barely warm to the touch when in the past it was literally like putting your hand on a boiling pot. Two weeks and it hasn't worn off yet. It might be hard to find because sometimes it's not in the paint section. At Ace Hardware it was in the hand tools section.

| Not Ranked : 0 score In my experience PlastiDip isn't super durable like everyone makes it out to be. It does harden up over time, but it's still plastic and can rub off unintentionally. I PlastiDip'ed a handlepole spring on my jetski and 2 summers later its peeling everywhere. I can't imagine being out in the sun will help it at all. But it is cheap and easy to apply, so good on you for being innovative.

| Not Ranked : 0 score My rear emblem has a few chips in it after about 6 months. I don't think I put enough coats on though, since my can ran empty, and I didn't feel like buying more. I put this stuff on my E4 knob and it was sweet! Kept it from getting insanely hot/cold. I coated the crap out of it and it lasted 6 mos, until I took the knob off for a JBR. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I need ideas guys. I'm going to plasti dip part of hood, hood stripes, wheels, roof, design on the side, something for the big EECMM meet at the Tail of the Dragon in October. I like the idea of decorating up the car for a meet and being able to reverse it afterward. I understand this stuff is not very durable but it will only be on my car for a week. I have only found black so far which is great for my Cosmic Blue Speed. I want to do something wild with my RX7 FD wheels. Maybe gold or red. I don't have photo shop skills so any ideas or pics would be welcome. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I plasti-dipped one wheel to see how it would hold up to getting a tire changed. it didn't hold up, well not even the oem paint on the wheel held up the way the asshat guy changed my tires. so i peeled it off, and the place had to repaint all 4 of my tires to fix the scratches they put in them. then after they came back i re-sprayed them all with plastidip. been holding up great over 2 months now and even took them through a soft cloth car wash with no problem. here is a vid of me peeling it off the wheel. comes off with ease. |
