Compare your rpm to Julios rpm on launch and that is the main reason why you're off almost a full 10th from the 60 right off the bat ... He never drops below 4k ... I wish I had a speedometer camera so U can see how the speedo moves

One last thing .... That U may or may not be able to change with shifting alone or tire change alone or the combination of the two

Do you notice your rpm needle hesitate at the bottom of every gear ? That is the engine bogging and struggling to make power to compensate for two things

A) slower shifts
B) too much tire not enough gear

Once again I apologize if it comes across as nit picking , I'm not at all... I am just sharing with you the things I would work on if that was my run

You have a badass little car man , congrats to all your hard work and effort ... Hope to see a 10.xx next post U make

Do not apologise ... i think that at high rpms the car bogs because of wheel spin (i`m not sure though)..
Bad thing is that the next race is at April 2015 we do not have permanent drag strips we only have airports that prepare them for drag races-events...

No , when the tires spin the rpms jump up and settle back down when the tires grab , what you see in your video is the opposite of tirespin ... Too much traction resulting in extreme load making the engine struggle to climb in rpm smoothly , trust me on this

Only 3 things can overcome this issue , quicker shifts , higher rpm shifts , or smaller tire /shorter gears .

Look on Julios video and you will see it only happens on the 1-2 shift because the car needed another 100-200 rpm to shift on the 1-2 to eliminate that

Little things that U analyze can end up saving you many tenths down the line without needing to make any more power

Cool little gauge btw on the speedo

In my opinion the engine is behaving in a manner that points to the car needing more rpm to compensate for the engine bogging , that will be achieved with more rpm on shifts , shorter tire , shorter gears or any combination of the 3 , I was not aware he had a non oem gen 1 gear ratio transmission , only that he has 27 tall slicks ... If he indeed has a wider ratio transmission then it would add to the problem .

In drag racing you want to run the smallest tire U can get away with for this very reason , larger tires and wide ratios leave the motor in limbo at the bottom of every gear and that hesitation/bog will cost acceleration which is why when you see his speedometer it hard pauses at every shift even when ffs

To me his car as it sits can run 10.7s .... He just needs to optimize traction with the right combination of tire and rpm ... And that takes a little time and plenty of passes to see what works best

The ultimate goal is to replicate what a speedometer looks like on an automatic car , smooth climb in speed with no interruptions ... This is why automatics are King at the drag strip

My car has oem gen1 gearing , it is the 27 that make it looks like taller gearing....
