Nice run man. Two things for you to make improvements on that I can see right off the bat. 1: Those QTP's need a longer burnout to get warmed up. Try sitting in the box for 10 sec and then take the ebrake off, letting the car pull you out. 2: Air pressure looks too low. Those are happy at 10-15psi. Keep up the good work. Drop that 60' down and you'll be biting at 10s

Even if it wasn't a great run, the afterfires were fantastic.

EDIT: These are the diesel gears? Sounds like you were in 4th at the end of the run?

I was cutting 1.8 60fts all night, I was doing everything in my power to get a longer burnout, in this video I tried to pedal it, didn't work so great, in all the other passes its relatively thing same thing though. I was pulling right through the e brake

Tire heat is all relative to the track surface temp. Huge nasty burnouts arnt always needed, exspesially when it's low 50* outside. In this case a couple seconds sitting still would have been great and that's about it.

But that you everyone

Okay, makes more sense. I was just reading his signature, but thought 3rd on diesel gears would've gotten him through a 1/4.

Tire heat is all relative to the track surface temp. Huge nasty burnouts arnt always needed, exspesially when it's low 50* outside. In this case a couple seconds sitting still would have been great and that's about it.

But that you everyone
this is what works best from my experience,

a) make sure you start the burnout on wet on the inside of the edge of the puddle
b) pump brake pedal 3 times all the way down and up , hold it there until ebrake is applied
c)yank the ebrake fully and i dont mean 3/4 way i mean until its hard to even release it
d) second gear bring up to 6500 or so
e) dump clutch and modulate throttle to ensure wheelspeed stays up , if you feel the rpms start going south bring it up to 7k
f) stay for 3-5 seconds spinning once you see tire smoke above BOTH front fenders
g) release e brake and back off the throttle as you pull forward

if you start the burnout in a spot that isnt too wet or one side is and the other side isnt it will be botched, if you dont put enough hydraulic pressure and physical pressure via cable the rear tires will roll , if you dont do 2nd gear u wont have enough wheelspeed to generate the right heat and the low speed will pull u out eventually

i know its alot to think about but that is the first step in ensuring a successful run ..... everything else about the video looks right fyi ... that is the only part that didnt and your 60ft reflects it

will look like this from outside

or like this on the inside (notice the vehicle does not move fwd until the e brake is released)

good luck man, nice work

Won't be happening this year unfortunately, but there is no doubt in my mind that I can bust out a lower 11, I don't think a 10 is achievable without a better driver mod... New fuel setup, new suspension setup, and prolly investing in actual slicks rather than QTPs... But on another note your previous how to post needs to be a sticky thread or something in the drag racing section

But on another note your previous how to post needs to be a sticky thread or something in the drag racing section
qtps are ok ... but qtps on 15s is what u need ... or the m&h on 15s ... either one is fine... the 16 inch wheels limit your sidewall height which is the money maker in absorbing the initial torque hit off the line.

10s with 128 mph are mathematically achievable , drop a few lbs off the car ... we ran basically the same ET as u with no more than 121mph (re tapped the limiter but on a previos run it hit 121.xx ) ... at a track well known for being a big ole pile of shit.

11.49 @ 121 was easily achieved after 4 passes on a new motor of 415whp ... to knock off another 5/10ths we woulda needed at most 6-7 mph so 127-128 is the limit ... grant u the driver has 7 + years of ms3 drag racing so its not like u can get to that level overnight but its not that difficult really.

in the end, fuck 10s .... be faster today than u were yesterday and one day u look back and u wont believe how many seconds u shaved off the et in a few years

most importantly , have fucking fun .
donjohnk and Justin@Freektune like this.
