Default MS6 first time at track

First time at the track with the speed6. BNR S3, cpe tmic, short ram, internals, cs dp, tp, magnaflow mufflers with slightly tweaked OTS Stage 2 map. Should I be doing better than this or is this the norm?

First run on the left and second on the right w/ a ton of heat soak.

That's slow for what you have.

You may want to check into meth or e85 if that's available, and get a real tune

I turned timing down in areas where it showed some knock.

@Amnesiac: That's what I thought, I know I could hit high 12's with my setup. I just need to find someone who tunes in my area.

I wouldn't worry too much about having someone local, etuning is great. I've used Stratified, Freektune, and Flowtuned and they were all fine.

I would really do something about fuel though, you're handicapping yourself if you're just running straight gas, especially in California where I hear it sucks.

CA gas sucks, I want to do a tune on e85 but this is my wife's DD and she doesn't want to search for e85 stations. Only option left is to run water/meth injection.

yea i would say that is slower than what your car is capable of. That is what i was running with no mods on my speed3.

Yeah, I'm gonna do a compression test on the car this week and go from there. I'm pretty sure I'm still on stock injector seals so I'm gonna order those soon. After that schedule a tune.

i used to drain most of my fuel out before i went to the track, then buy race fuel once i got there and change maps.

TMIC generally show slower times at drags with heat soak waiting in the lanes and get worse as the night goes on after it has had a hammering and back to the lanes again.
If the car was heat soaked the ECU pulls a fair bit of timing and richens AFRS, basically saps power big time to protect the engine.

That's right, I forgot all about heat soak. Next time I'll bring a bag of ice to try and keep the tmic cool.
