461_SS ended up sharing a Focus ST on the second day with the owner, I'm actually curious to hear about his impressions on the Ford. 461_SS was also the fastest out of us 3.

The course was 0.6 miles long, weather was perfect and lots of people showed up. We ran the same course both days, just reversing start/finish and a few elements near these two areas. On day one, the last section before the long 180 turn was really fast, I was on the rev limiter in 2nd gear at 60 MPH but other drivers who shifted into 3rd or had longer gears were hitting close to 70. They made this section a little more tight on the second day.

I did have a few issues with my car popping out of 2nd gear and my center console eating my key fob (thanks for helping me out Rich!) but otherwise everything went well. We did 7 runs the first day (4 am and 3 pm) but unfortunately had to cut it short to only 4 runs on the second day due to some delays (cars breaking down on the course, etc.). So, I actually did not do my very best on the 2nd day, I was still leaving some room in a few braking zones, etc.
That reminds me I still have to upload my videos at some point.

I enjoyed running the Focus ST. Needed some more power, but the thing handled very well (Koni Yellows and H&R springs). It rotated exceptionally well. Much better than the speed 3. I'll have to see how it compares to the speed when I get all the new suspension on. Some new RS3's would be nice too!

I definitely enjoyed the second day much more. I'm sure it is because I wasn't worrying about that damn rear quarter panel lip after every run. Stupid Mazda.

We stayed for the fun runs on the 2nd day (Rich and I). Rich picked up like 2 seconds after going for a ride with me. He didn't believe his time haha.

Honestly, if I didn't already have a speed 3 and wasn't almost done paying the car off I'd get a Focus ST.

First day I was also riding the rev limiter in 2nd. I actually shifted to third, back to second and back into third after the Chicago box. You can really make a lot of time at the Chicago box if you can brake late and pray the car sticks.

Good stuff! Next time try taking your shifter weight off. When you're in 2nd I think the weight is towards the rear of the shifting range so when you hit those brakes hard you have some forward momentum trying to get that weight moving. I haven't experience it, but it makes a whole lot of sense. Should take you 10 minutes to remove, unless you have a stock air box.

I haven't made it to any the past month because I've been in the middle of getting tuned. And today my drivers seat just suddenly clicked then leaned back a bit. A bracket under there cracked at the welds. I was going to race Susquehanna Farm Show this weekend, but now I'll be welding (hopefully I can get to it) instead. Blah!

I'll be out there with you guys before the season is out I promise!

Yeah this one isn;t on the track because it is SCCA weekend. However, it would still be fun! I'm waiting for the next NEPA Pocono event on the road course. Gotta bring my A game for that one haha.

So does that mean you'll run DSP with me, or stay in STX you top mount whore haha

Yeah, they are in Philly and I normally run in NYR. NNJ region is just as close but they charge more for their lot and less runs. They do have a better lot though...

A cAr that will pass tech (They check wheels and look under the hood and in the car. You can't have any mats in the car and all items must be out. Rear tire can stay if it's bolted in and they also check to make sure the battery is secured). You need a Snell '00 and above helmet and if you don't have one a loaner helmet is available. I beleive motorcycle helmets are okay. Also get there early so you can walk the course (As many times as possible), get teched and pickup your registration bar code. They also have Instructors floating around so ask for one (I believe they ask you to turn your 4 ways on). Whatever you do do not go balls out. Start slow and work your way into it and you will get the hang of it.

Feel free to bug myself (I have the Black MS3) with any questions.

thanks for the input! im looking around for a helmet online, didn't realize they are so expensive and i kinda dont want to use a helmet that has been used but dozens of other people lol, but maybe i should inorder to make sure i actually enjoy auto-x before i drop $200+ on a helment. my mustang should pass tech inspection i think i might have to do something with the battery tie down. but if all goes well my MS3 should be on the road by then. when i go there ill definitely stop and ask you questions haha

Had a blast at Pocono with NEPA. @461_SS; ended up driving my car for the day. I won

Here are 2 comparison videos from the day. The first one is our only clean runs and the second one we both had 1 cone but our times were .004 seconds apart from each other.

You didn't win by much! Our clean runs would have been extremely close if I didn't screw up the last section!

Yes, I am trying to make excuses. Don't judge me lol

As of right now I will be going. Just need to have my four new tires mounted and balanced somewhere....

Wrapping up another season with the Miata Mazdaspeed. Short gearing is not helping but it is still a lot of fun. I definitely need better tires and learn and how to drive it more smoothly, I tend to upset the chassis quite often.

Aggressive and slow

Smooth and Fast

Miata oversteer/tank slappers. Always in 3 gear, full boost around 5k.

Slide at the end, 50s in, sideways through the finish line (2 green cones). Concrete was too grippy, it surpised me.

Slide at 30s in, this time I caught it, but actually snapped a bolt in my seat. haha
