Default Strange Water Build-Up...

Hey everyone, first post ever so I hope I'm in the right area.

I just recently purchased my second mazdaspeed3 ever and it's been an interesting few days. But that's probably for another post.

I'm curious if anyone else has had water collect on their passenger floorboard. It's started happening about 5-6 days after I bought it and I can't figure out how it's getting in. The floorboard is actually soaked, and when I lift the removable mats the bottom rubber side actually has water dripping down.

I've tried drying both the mat and the floor a couple times already but this morning I got in and it's like I never did anything to it.

Any help or advice would be appreciated, there's a moldy smell that's starting to take over my car...

[QUOTE=SyntheticAtmosphere;3171479]Search? I've been posting about this in the last month.

Just took a look under the carpet. I don't believe the cause is either of the things you posted about, it looks like it's actually coming from UNDER the floor board.

I hate how everyone says go search here or there and then the information never gets back to the original thread. I'm not gonna spend the time searching SyntheticAtmosphere's post to see what he suggested.

I don't know if it can happen with the Speed 3 but I had another car that had a clogged AC drain line. It never happened when the car was in Las Vegas but when the car shipped to Hawaii (and super humidity) it happened all the time. When you ran the AC the condensation would build up and fill the lower HVAC box until it came to a seam where it then would leak out and puddle just like you are describing. During spirited driving and cornering the water would make its way to the blower motor squirrel cage and make a terrible noise and shoot water out under force. I ended up cleaning the drain line in the engine compartment/lower frame area multiple times with a straightened coat hanger and a long pipe cleaner while back flushing the rubber hose with compressed air and water. When the blockage finally broke loose a couple gallons of water leaked out and it has been good since.

Give it a look and let us know what you find.

It's funny you say that, I just got off the phone with a friend who works at Mazda and he said the exact same thing. Clogged A/C drain. I'll take a look and update on what comes of it. Thanks for the input!
