It's not so much a matter of Apple vs. PC or Apple vs. Samsung as much as it's just the patent system sucks dick either way. And I don't buy Apple products purely for their anti-competitive behavior and corporate culture of being huge cunts. Apple makes great products and I respect that, but their whole attitude of "We are the greatest and will sue anyone else that dares challenge us into oblivion" really turns me off.

I really like my Galaxy Nexus but if Samsung started doing the same shit Apple did I would drop them in a heart beat. On top of that Android 4.1 is a great Mobile OS and it really is as easy to use as iOS. I would recommend a vanilla Android 4.1 Jellybean phone to my grandma now because it's that easy to use.

Apple sued Samsung not because of patents or designs or anything. Apple sued Samsung because Samsung was attempting to mimic and copy Apple at every turn and wanted to be Apple. This wasn't a case of some simple infringement. If Apple wanted to sue because of a few designs, or a few ideas.. why havent they sued MIUI Official Site Or even Discover | elementary ?

Why hasn't Apple went after other companies and groups that used their artwork. What about Apps that use Apple's design language in Windows? That concept gained massive notoriety and everyone wanted one. People were very outspoken in their support for the iphone with a bigger screen, slimmer bezels, wider phone, and a wider home button.

But who released it?






Samsung themselves have leaked documents to show they meant to copy apple and parts of apple. It wasn't "Oh hey, here are 5 leading competitors that we could gain influence from", or "Oh Hey, here is the iphone and 4 different other concepts online we can learn from." ... No, it was "How can we make it like the iPhone." It wasn't about making a better product, it was about assimilating that products experience in your own product to try and steal their product experience.

Doubt it. Some of the key things Google has coming limit them. Only lately is Google catching up to Apple in some key points.

As for hardware, so what they pay the fines and update the hardware. Its not like its hard to get around this. Apple has plenty of money to blow when it comes to patents and litigation. Apple has enough off-shore cash to buy up half the competition. If anything they'd want to lose and pay for the licenses so they could claim some shit on their taxes.

Apple doesn't try to control everything. Apple just has standards. You want to see who wants to control everything? ATT/Verizon. Those fuckers want to control EVERYTHING you do on their network.

Apple just has standards. They demand quality of their application providers and they want to ensure theres a good experience on their phones. After spending 2 years at front-line customer service its a good thing they do. The average consumer has no clue what happened when "Explorer.exe has stopped responding.." shows up. You have the right to choose not to buy their products. Thats fine. But theres tons of soccer moms, grandmas, and executives who DGAF about modding their phones or customizing it. Apple focuses on the content and the applications; they do not focus on the chrome. Apple wants the chrome to be the last thing you think of. It's whats known as GTD. They want the OS to be the last thing you think of and the task at hand to be the forefront of what you're doing.

I used windows my whole life until last year and I will never go back. Windows would always crash and I would have to reinstall it. I also have an iPhone and it makes it easier to sync on a mac. The mac starts up a lot faster than windows and the battery life is amazing.

I always enjoyed building windows computers but it doesn't seem practical
Anymore. I can buy one a lot cheaper than building one. Apple computers are much more expensive but I am a total apple fan boy now.

it's called properly putting applications to sleep unlike android which often leaves things running which eat your battery alive unless you download another app to take care of that.

there are times where it takes apple longer to implement things that have been around on other phones for a while but when they do implement them they work right.

the only problem I have with android phones are that if I bought one I'd feel like it was outdated in a month when a new one is released. At least with an iPhone I know I have a year before it is slightly outdated but even then I've been using my iPhone 4 for 2 years and the thing runs great. for me, simplicity wins, although I'd love for the iphone to be more customizable as far as UI but I've jailbroken it and it just ruins the performance.
