What wheels should I buy and space combo if needed to run 245 tires(any ratio) on 18 x 8.5"

I want to fit brembo calipers in the front, I dont care how flush it is i want the most clearance all the way around i dont want any rubbing I am on yellowspeed coilovers. the rears are set as high as they go and the fronts dropped i dont know how much probably around 1.3 inch(probably same drop in rear)

I am sorry trying to understand all this offset vs tire vs fender vs caliper and vs monkey and goats fuck all this if anyone knows what needs to be bought let me know please.

on summit racing i dont see wheels with 5x 114.x bolt pattern

So basically you want to know what offset you should be running, correct?

If so, I would say probably something in the +45 range.

Also, caliper clearance is going to depend heavily on spoke design and not much else. It's a shot in the dark what kind of calipers you will be able to fit.

I will get some pics up for you this weekend. I really wanted to run 255/40s for the extra width but the wheel was already so close to my front strut i was really afraid it was going to rub so i went with 245/45.

3rd option will cause problems.

1st and 2nd could be done with just a roll. The roll would need to be pretty good on the +40 though.

It's a fairly aggressive set up... But it can be done with a little work..

Just looking for opinions folks. I'm on oem wheels and 15mm spacers and sonic coilovers; am I crazy? Or do I not sit as flush as these pics above?

Your car looks nice, but it looks like you have more negative camber in the rear compared to the cars in the OP. Do you have adjustable camber arms in the rear? Those will help push the top of the tire out and get a more flush look..

May need a slight roll but other than that you'll be fine

Needing a new set of tires and kind of want to upgrade to 235's
Sitting on 18x8 +45 wheels. I'm wondering how the fitment will be if I go to 235 tires and eventually be on H&R springs but staying at stock height for a while
Pics/experience needed. Pu's only

Hey guys, I want to get a new rubber and rim setup so I read most of this thread.

I am somewhat decided on 245/45/17 tire with a 45+ 17/9 rim, will I need a roll?

I am on my stock suspension still but plan to go on springs/koni's next year.

Just picked up a set of RX8 wheels (18 x 8.0 50mm offset) and I currently have Hancook Ventus v12's (225/40ZR-18) on my OEM wheels. It looks like the tire size for the RX8s are 225/45R18. I currently have 5mm JBR spacers and am lowered about an inch on coilovers. Basically I just want to know if I can run my current tires on these new RX8s. I think I can but would just like some peace of mind lol

You will have no problems with that setup. I always recommend a roll on back fenders just as a safety net but i dont even think you would be that close to rubbing. Pics of setup when you're done!

You will probably rub if your under heavy acceleration and hit a dip in the road on stock suspension. I would go ahead and roll even if you don't get the koni's.

I'm about to buy these wheel and i want to make sure i won't need a mad roll.

XXR 531 17x9 et35 and i'm gonna put 215/50r17 tires on it

I'm ok with a mild roll, but if i have to roll them flat that gonna hurt me

you're gonna need a "mad roll" and a lot of camber.. I run 18x8.75 +35 with 215/40(closer to 225) and I'm rolled, slightly pulled, with some camber adjustments. Also, depends how low you want to go.. Either way, you're going to be looking like a 4x4 or "herrafrush"

I'd go with something a little less aggressive. I think my set up is a bit extreme but I can't just send it back. Ideally I'd say 17x9 +40 would be perfect. If you can find that size anyway

Will a 19x8.75 +35 fit on my mazdaspeed6? Or 18x8.75 +35?

You wont need a roll for this if your have a gen 2. I put 19x9.5 +20 with 225/40s and didn't need a roll on stock suspension. I was just playing around with the wheels for a day but it never rubbed. Granted the tire size was smaller but the offset and width of the rim was much larger.

I plan on running the same size, 17x9 +45 with 245/40's instead, plus 5mm spacers to clear the front struts.

No it wasn't at all lol. Looked really dumb. That's why It was only for a day, still good info to see what actually fits with no modification. If for some reason you needed to run that size for a week. They were the Varrstoen te37 reps and I think the offset was 22 not 20.

I decided not to go with anything larger than a 9" width just to be practical. Anything lower than a +35 offset would also be too much work and not worth it.

Sorry if I missed it, had a search but could only see info on MS3

Hello all, new to the forums here!

I've read through all 15 pages here, and I haven't quite seen the answer to the question I have. I'm running the stock wheels on the genone (215/45 tire on 18x7 rim, +52.5). I'm looking to get a new set for the summer, and don't particularly want to do any fender work if I can help it. The car is completely stock, and actually had the rear shocks replaced recently, so they should function pretty well.

I'm looking at some wheels in the 18x7.5 and 18.8 size, and was hoping you guys could give your opinions if they'll fit with no additional fender work.

A couple sizes I'm looking at:
18x7.5 +42
18x8 +48
18x8 +45

All would be running the same tire of 215/45.

Any thoughts on rubbing issues? I'm not trying to have an aggressive fit, just a nice set of rims without doing any fender work. There does not seem to be a hefty selection of 18x7 rims to choose from where there will be less issues.

Thanks!

On stock suspension and that tire size I don't think you'll have issues with any of those setups.

The 18x8 +45 is going to be the one that's "most aggressive" of the three, obviously.
