Default CPE 75duro Motor Mount!

Ok, let me preface this by saying I have tried the TRZ Poly and Delrin mounts. Both mounts were given time to break in. They were still too harsh for my tastes.

This CPE motor mount is stiff, stout, and best of all "prettay", and best of all, got a great deal from Palerider!

I bought this, the 75 duro mount, with hesitation, because it is the stiffer of the two options. But i needed a stiffy. I had already told myself, bad or not, its staying in. Well after buying it, but before installing it, I drove randy's car a bit. but thats a story of its own for another time. It gave me hope, knowing that he had the 75 duro. it was smooth.

So I installed it. I swear that this thing was crafted with sorcery and black magic. It is smooth. Much nicer than either of the TRZ mounts I tried.

I totally dig it. Buy one. Buy two. I will be on the list as soon as the CPE side mounts are available. Unbelievable that you can make a stiff mount not vibe so bad.

Quick background: I helped CP-E test their original Mazda6 engine mounts, and also the new Speed3 engine mounts. In all, I've probably had about 6-7 different dura and configurations of mounts on my car from cp-e.

Just to add to this thread. I was one of the testers for the rear engine mount, and I was given a few dura's to try over the testing phase.

When I put on the lower dura (I think its 60?), I couldn't tell the thing was installed. I tried so hard to see if I could feel a vibe, or anything through the car. The only thing I noticed was a reduction in wheel hop, and crisper shifting.

Now I'm running the 75 dura, which you can just BARELY tell its installed...normally stopped at a light with the AC on, you get a "hint"...but man it's barely noticable.

There was this one mount CP-E made me and my buddy fugi one weekend before we went to vir. I told them that some people would probably want the stiffest possible mount without going to a solid billet race mount...they decided to have fun with us, and they must of given us like a 3000 dura mount or something absurd like that...anyway...holy god that was the greatest my mazda 6 ever felt in its life. Fugi and I were going nuts at vir, that engine didn't move AT ALL...the whole car sounded different, it was insane. Vibes up the wazzo, especially with the A/C on...but man...there is nothing like a rock hard mount. Ha.

Anyway it was our job to test the mounts, and we flogged on those things for 4 straight track days, almost 8 hours of high speed driving and shifting. (Don't ever let anyone tell you that CP-E doesn't try to test every conceivable situation for their products) We did succeed in breaking the mounts, which is why they eventually went with a different pour and dura...but man it's nice to now have the best of both worlds in the current generation of cp-e mounts. Now you get everything you want, without any of the associated vibes. That's Comfy Performance Engineering for you!

i had one of the original 60 duro mounts from batch 1...never installed it as i was gonna sell my Speed(have decided to keep it ATM)....one my buds and members here(great guy by the way) Mazdaj bought it and installed it....i hope it's doing well for him...i knew there were some issues with batch 2's pour so they had a recall..Just so i am clear on this, as i will be buying the complete set from CP-E when they are available....when i install them is another story...but are the original 60 duro still availabale or is it just the 75 on the rear trans mount?
Indeed, i will be PM PaleRider for these as well as his vitamin enriched Cialis pills he sends out with each mount order.

Yes, you can still get the 60. Randy (palerider) has several of each in stock.

I got the 60 duro and love it. I can tell it's there when the air is on and when I start the car but it's not bad compared to what it does for shifting.

that's great that CP=E is gonna offer 2 different levels....as one who drives pretty easy, my basic goal is to take out of the equation any reason for the motor to fall out...and indeed i will go for the less NVH as long as it is strong and i never have to change them again....

hey Cam....i am more interested in coming down to hang out again with you and meet the team at CP-E than to mod the car at the present time....but then again mounts, HPFP, seem like the next mod all CP-E of course...that we can talk about...i feel good about those improvements. Hope things are well Cam....your engineering skills have brought some fresh insight to the CP=E team....keep up the good work man, it's been impressive.

What is the main difference between the 60 and the 75?

I just got the 60, but haven't installed it yet.

Thank in advance.

I just put a 60 duro in and honestly this thing has the same vibes as stock. I can't believe how little vibes this mount has and I've tried 4 other companys mounts. This is by far the best and shifting is just as good as any other mount I've tried.

yeah if I'd have known how little the vibes are with the 60, I would've gone 75. Still very happy with it though

So for a daily driver that doesn't race much, if ever....is the 75 worth it over the 60? How much of a difference in shifting does it make?

in all honesty, I'd say everybody should go with the cp-e 75 duro....it makes shifting that much better...and the vibrations are nearly gone with my setup...i've driven about 300 miles since putting it on...its amazing

i actually LIKE it to vibrate a little...its not annoying at all...I just like the feeling of being connected to my car...the noise is what really bugs me

I'm planning on getting a mount soon. I'm likely leaning towards the 75 now after reading this thread since there's supposedly very little vibes added compared to stock. Are there any noticeable differences in shift quality between the 60 and 75 duro?

What is your setup anyways?

Does anyone here have the 75 duro mount with the turbine tech front mount? If so does this mount help with the vibes at idle? I've got the turbine tech front mount with a stock rear mount and I'm looking at upgrading my rear mount.

right now I have cp-e 75 duro....and medieval trans and medieval passenger side mount

feels GREAT....i actually don't mind the slight vibration....its VERY subtle if any....I probably would think the 60 duro is too soft for my driving needs!

anyone experience both 60 and 75? if so, how much of a difference in shifting did the extra stiffness make? is the dif in performance worth the extra NVH in your opinion?

i ended up getting the 75.... no regrets. the day i put it in, i noticed vibes when my ac was on and i was at idle. now, a few weeks later, i dont notice a thing. indeed this mount was made w/black magic and sorcery. i got it right the first time, i wont be one of the guys who goes through 5 dif mounts lookin for the best one. i got the best one first shot! thanks for the hookup, randy.
