That's a actually a good argument about the turbo inlet versus the airbox. I'm hoping that the airbox won't be too hard to design. We recently made a stainless steel airbox for the Acura RDX, and that was pretty quick and painless.

We will absolutely try because it is in our best interest as well. The more intakes the airbox fits, the larger our potential customer base.

Yup, I just don't want people to think that there was some minimum number of people that we were looking for before we start the project. All I'm trying to say is that as more people show interest it'll raise the project's priority. If people want it bad enough then we'll work on that project next

Thanks on that. I'm quite sure your SRI will be great, but, I bought my Cobb before your product was announced.

I'm currently running the cobb SRI, it's good, but. I'd really love to see what CP-E can come up with. Plus would it work with the new larger MAF that CP-E is working on?

+1. The bigger MAF has me a bit confused. Generally, the MAF is part of the intake, so, if they are doing a bigger MAF, that would seem to imply they are doing bigger intakes. For the bigger MAF, will it be available as both SRI and CAI? Will it scale the values so that the ECU doesn't have a problem with the bigger MAF? I'd really like more info.

You have it exactly. Anyone can just make a larger MAF huosing, but the tricky part is creating the MAF transfer function and reprogramming the ECU with the new information. I spent several weeks calibrating a 3.25" housing for some big turbo guys, and as soon as we get some feedback from them we're going to offer the housing and flash as a standard product. We'll likely offer the Nano with either a standard or 3.25" housing, and also sell the housing separately if the customer would like to make their own intake.

Stock turbo? I rather doubt it. The stock MAF is 2.62 and the turbo is only 2.

+1

i remember jordan posting that bigger MAF housings are tricky, because you have a harder time getting an accurate reading from them simply because the opening is so big and hard to maintain consist airflow through.

I'm with everyone here. I'd snag a CPE coldair box should they offer one for the MS6 and NANO combination. I'd be all over that in a heartbeat... Nevermind...I exagerated. I'd be all over that in LESS than a heartbeat. ( :

would this be for both the sri, and the box or the box only?

would rather see this be made out of plastic mainly for sound concerns

I believe earlier in the thread, CPE said that if they do make it, they would try to make it fit either.

I have been waiting and waiting for COBB for almost a year to make this.
Don't think it will ever happen.
I would buy one as long as it was compatible w/ the COBB intake.

I am excited to hear that someone will finally make this for us....

CP-e.... Thank you!

Please pull through for us....

I just re-read through the thread to see if what I said was correct. I see only one post by CPE, #37. In that post, he didn't mention Cobb compatibility, so, either I misremembered, or that was in another thread. Sorry...

But, of note, that post was a few months ago now, and I haven't heard anything more recent. My point being, I wouldn't get too excited about this actually happening. Not until we hear more from CPE.

Im not even looking for an enclosure just a seperater simular to this

K&N Cold Air Intake: Mazda 3K&N 69 Series Typhoon Intake: Mazdaspeed 3

just fitment options for a cobb sf and nano
were talking a plastic seperator with heat shielding on one side and weather striping around the edges. No drawing board needed i just clearly dont have the materials nor the time to fab this up........this is were i was hoping CPe would take the project and mass produce

If/when they make it, they'd probably just use ordinary plastic. Resists heat fine and lot cheaper than CF.
