(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Notice how one half of the holes will not line up with the bushing part of the mount. ![]() You can clearly see that the manufacturing process was off by 2 or 3 mm. ![]() This shows that the other side lines up perfectly ![]() @801MS3 suggested trying to see if the plate is the problem and using the plate from my trans mount that failed. A few of the bolts on the old mount snapped off or stripped which caused the holes on the plate to become ovals instead of circles. Surprise, surprise, this gave enough room for the bolts to go in. Only problem is that the bolts are completely rubbing against the side of the inset part of the plate. ![]() ![]() I refuse to use the damaged mount's plate, so the only thing I can do is post up and bring the terrible quality control to CP-Es attention. Edit: I had already read @Erich's thread and took the bushing side apart/cleaned and reassembled... it was still the same distance apart. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Emailed and called, but it's the weekend and I need a new part ASAP. I didn't post my other part failure up here out of respect, but they haven't responded to any of my contact about that part after a week of waiting. If Erich hadn't had the same problem with his mount, I would have stayed quite about this. Seeing as how it appears to be NOT a unique situation, I believe this thread is justified. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I still don't understand why they don't just assemble these two pieces as part of manufacturing. It would avoid both this problem and the possibility of a customer not using threadloc and creating a potentially dangerous situation.

| Not Ranked : 0 score meh, i think it's justified. this part has failed more than the oem mount ever did, has been documented like crazy and this was already a replacement for a broken part, and they still couldn't get it right. anyone else would be being lynched to take the product off the market, with good reason.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I completely agree with what you're saying about making a thread about every little thing that goes wrong which is why I did not make a big deal about my previous failure (expensive failure). If the problem appears to be widespread, I feel like a warning to other potential purchasers is due. I have a great deal of respect for CP-E and I want them to continue to manufacture high quality parts. They have a reputation for making some of the best Mazda aftermarket pieces, so something like this shouldn't be acceptable. Again, I am not out to crucify CP-E. I am simply giving another example of this part's tolerances/quality control not being tight enough. BTW, thank you for stepping up CP-E. I do appreciate it. I paid extra to get this part shipped ASAP and as fast as possible, so I hope you understand the frustration when the part couldn't be assembled. Hopefully this turns out to be a testament of great customer service. Last edited by grantmm; 03-25-2013 at 10:50 AM. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Almost looks as the part was not sitting properly in the CNC machine. Looks like the holes were drilled/tapped on an angle. To be off 2-3mm is definitely human error or a problem in the cnc code. Being that QC does not check every part, this one might have just happened to slip by. It happens. You check one out of every 5/10 (where I work). Always a chance of something slipping by. That's the risk the company takes. Although I would have personally contacted them by PM first. |

You guys wanted transparency from SURE and this is EXACTLY that. Also, everyone says "OMG CALL", but the OP clearly stated he already called and emailed. Emailing should suffice as a form of communication anyways. If you don't want to reply to emails, then don't set up an email account. I had a similar problem with CP-E's QC on a downpipe recently, so it is not an isolated issue. However, CP-E handled the issue well, so that is what really counts, IMO. It also took me 4 separate phone calls to CP-E get a hold of someone to ask one question. Most of us have jobs and cannot take the time out of our work day to call a company 4 times for the answer to a simple question. It does not help that they are in a completely different timezone, either. This is why we use e-mail and expect an actual response from said company. EDIT: Also, a failed motor mount is not exactly a small issue... People's lives could be put at risk by these failing.
