| Not Ranked : 0 score Yea Matt gets that too. That used to happen to me a while ago. Didn't get that same error but it would stop logging at WOT. It resolved itself with 1 of 2 things (maybe both) 1)I updated the software to a later version. I'm using the current 2.6.0.5 but i believe this stopped with the 2.59q version which could be related to #2 below 2)I put in a flex innovations grounding kit Again, that's just my individual experience. I know lots of talk has gone on as to why this happens in other threads.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Same here with the error. Standback Error.bmp Was using V2.59 and i even got the error a few times with Matt's (MattJackson86) software, but less frequently. I do prefer Matt's software overall. Automatic logging feature is cool. He did a great job. Mazda StandBack Tuner Screw this grounding, noise problem. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score In case you guys dont know yet! The Standback Is Flawed!! CPE has been aware of this issue for quite a while now. They were able to correct part of the problem by adding filters to the standback, but as people began to make more power, frequency noise increased. The noise is breaking up signal. I still cant log due to the frequency noise. Cpe tried assisting me as well as some of the brains in here to get this figured out but nothing. As of right now CPE does not know how to correct this problem. So you're stuck with the decision of lowering boost or timing if you want to log again, or you go AP and be done with the mess. I cant blame anyone particularly but I'm sorta disappointed at CPE for how the sb/flashes turned out. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score so if i have a OEM ecu that has been flashed with 2 CPE flashes...(no cold cut (noboost-ct) and the (full control flash)...i probably can't use a AP can i... from what i have read is that the newer version of those flashes lock out the AP so that you have to use the SB... now i have to figure out if i have the newer or older flashes...i know that for surely my flashes are older then May '09...that's it cuz that is when i bought the POS does cpe charge to go back to a stock tune...or can mazda reflash to a stock tune for me? ugh |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Has anyone with an MS6 had this issue? I wonder if just getting the SB out from under the hood would take car of the problem? Not defending the BS here, just thinking out loud. I have never had issues taking logs, just viewing them in the forever unfinished BBX software--Unless the support from CP-E increases dramatically in the near future I may be switching myself...

| well, for you guys making power, you are going to need to make a decision.. but why is CPE selling the SB2 now? Shouldnt there be some kind of discounting for you guys that are SB1 owners?

| Not Ranked : 0 score I would say go AP spankr...but you also have invested alot of money with the sb, and obviously when you spend money like that you want that product to work right. Hard to say, guess contact cpe and see if they can resolve the prab. though Gerry just said they dont know how, or cut your losses best you can, and get the Accessport. goodluck, hope everything all works out for you.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Here's the issue. The SB is a bit of a homebrew piggyback that is having communication issues likely due to electrical noise that interferes with the USB communication side of things and some computers are more tolerant to this than others. Many things to try here - have you tried a shielded USB cable? The AP does not add hardware to the very well tested and developed stock ECU so the chance for failure is much lower on that end but - sometimes strange things happen there too since the OEM logic may not be 100% understood or uncovered. If I was you and wanted something RELIABLE, I would stick with OEM hardware as much as possible - but remember that the AP was not what it is now when the SB was out. I would not even consider something like a standalone or TC3 in this car or any car that has a good flash solution available unless OEM warranty is a big issue for you. These companies do not have the resources of an OEM to reproduce the functionality of the stock ECU. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score something small and probably not really an issue i noticed today while taking parts off my car at one point i suggested to gerry that the additional noise from hid ballasts could be causing interference gerry runs like 6 of them and i have 4 - i was always curious of the number of people having the cutting out issues when compared to everyone running these ballasts today i just happend to notice that i had my drivers low beam ballast shoved down in between 2 small grounds that are right behind the headlight housing the ballast was in physical contact with these grounds - i'm curious to try the sb again, but at this point i'm pretty checked out on the car might be worth a thought if u wanted to tim the extra grounding kit is this NRG Grounding Wire System - Revolution Performance Motorsports! i bought it and never installed it if u want is 20 dorra and it's yours... it's blue also to the guys asking about using cpe flashed ecus if you want to go cobb your ecu isn't ruined forever - cpe takes kind of a "snapshot" of your ecu when you get the flashes and keeps it on file if you want to go ap all you have to do is send it back to them and they will return it to stock condition or you could pay a dealer to do the same thing you can not just start with the ap and flash over what cpe has done...
