Default Nano SRI and TIP feedback

I've been running the Nano SRI and TIP for a few months now and just wanted to say that I am very satisfied with the products. The construction and finish was great and installation had no surprises. Keep up with the good products and support.

What do you think of the setup soundwise? Heard it was really quiet, which is what I'm looking for.

Don't know if you had and/or heard other setups.

I don't have anything to compare it to, but it's not quiet. That being said I don't think it will differ too much from other brands.

Silicone will be quieter than metal that is used by some manufacturers. I'm talking about the TIP here. SRI setups will all have a similar sound.

I've been running my Nano for damn near 3 years (if not longer) and all is well here.

Now, I just wish you guys would start getting into larger MAF housings with an air straightener.

I'm having a hard time to decide to get a JBR Stage 2 (SRI+TIP) or just the SRI, which are silicone. Also getting a costum tune afterwards.

I'm searching hard on the forums if the gains (combined with a tune) are worth the added sounds.

I have a Injen CAI now and that is already a bit too much for me.

I'm all about performance but I really want it sleeper style.

Sleeper style is more about the way it looks. The more power you add the louder your car will be when you stomp on the gas. At normal driving, not in boost, the sound isn;t going to be much louder than stock. but as @08.5MS3; said the silicone will be quieter than the aluminum TIP

Ok, didn't know sleeper style was just about the looks.

About the silicone, that was one of the reasons I'm thinking of getting the JBR intake.

Do you think a silicone SRI+TIP like JBR is going to be louder, then just my metal Injen CAI?

This is also something I searched a lot on the forums, but opinions seem to vary.

Have a CP-E nano and nviscid tip that I purchased here on MSF, happy with its performance/sound, not happy that the tip has wear almost all the way through from the white/ECU cable harness, can't say that its really CP-E's problem as its used but its an artifact of how our intakes have to fit... the only other thing I would suggest to people is the be very very careful with the EBC nipples on the tip and the EBC, mazda made these entirely too easy to break, bumping against it might be enough to do it.

Have had my Cpe Nano for a couple years - all good
Larger intakes would be good. Full 3" ID for example.
This intake is about 2.8" ID I think
I had previously measured but cannot remember exactly.
Really well made and would recommend to anyone

I have no experience with the JBR intake, only thing I know is the design and manufacturing is awesome. Anyway, from experience I had both a COBB Sri and then got a cp-e nano, both made everything fairly loud alone, then bought an aluminum TIP, forgot who made it, was the first one to come out with it, and it made it a bit louder, then switched out to the cp-e silicone TIP and it significantly reduced the sound.
Sleeper style is basically keeping the car stock looking or making it crappier looking and just concentrating on the go fast parts. For example if you pull up to a dodge colt hatch, but you have no idea that it has a full DSM engine swap in it.

"Sleeper style is basically keeping the car stock looking or making it crappier looking and just concentrating on the go fast parts." This is exactly my style, love to accelerate the shit out of Honda's and GTI's unexpectedly, and I don't need more head turning. I already get that too much.

So in your experience the silicone TIP+SRI was more quiet then just the SRI?
Or just that the silcone TIP was more quiet then the aliminium TIP?

yes, the silicone TIP deadened the sound a bit it also made the BPV quieter where just an intake made it louder.

^^^ this is sleeper style and wonderfully entertaining when you encounter one.... most of them were gear/rev limited to about 130 MPH, with a funky 4x2 tranny or wonderfully unreliable 5 speed; but pegging that 120 speedo was fun... (I had an 84 Colt GTS, still miss that little bit of embarrassment).
