No local pickup?

Last night I placed an order on the CP-E site for the last motor mount I need to have the full CP-E setup. I left a note on the order to not ship or charge shipping as I'm local and would be picking up. This is the same process I have used for everything I have bought from CP-E since I'm all of about 15 minutes away and I hate waiting for mail.

I called today to verify there was stock and find out if they thought it would be ready by the end of today or the end of tomorrow so I could spin by.

When I made the comment that I would be spinning by to pick it up I was told "No you won't" and then told that because the shipping department is busy, they have stopped local pickups.

Now, maybe my logic is flawed but that makes no sense to me. How does my picking up the part increase workload on the shipping department? Not to mention, for all I care they can grab the part in the back and hand it directly to me. I don't need boxes or packing as I'm just going to tear it open and install the part.

Regardless, the point of my post is this. I would urge you, CP-E, to reconsider this course of action. I can't be the only local who finds it both cheaper, faster, and more convenient to pick the part up. I can't be the only local that has been swayed in a decision between a part from two different companies by that convenience.

Is it really such a huge task to NOT ship something for a customer who just spent hundreds of dollars at your business and would like to swing by and pickup?

I'm with Mike on this one.. I don't really understand how a customer coming to personally pick up a part is an inconvenience to cp-e.

honestly I feel their response was dis respectful and i would take personal offense to it. simply goes with my other experiences with them.

First off we appologize for this mix up. We are NOT stopping local pickup IF you buy direct from us, which you did, the only time we cannot offer local pick up is if you buy through a vendor. There is no way we can get around this as we do not control these orders they are controlled through the vendors. Vendors cannot authorize local pickup either they have to be shipped.
If you purchase direct from cp-e and would like to pick up the part please put it in the order comments like @iammike; has done and then call with the order number and schedule a pick up time/date so we can set it aside for you.
I have sent a PM to get some info from you so we can get to the bottom of this. Again we appologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Thanks CP-E. Replied to your PM and glad to hear you aren't stopping direct purchase local pickups. I can continue to impulse buy.
