(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I was cleaning up my Standback and PNP harness install today. When I started the car got a cel, hadn't messed with anything else so I thought maybe one of the plugs wasn't seated right. But when I looked close one of my wires had come unattached from the plug that goes into the back of the standback. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get the pin out of the plug so that I could solder it to the pin to fix it?........any help would be greatly appreciated........thanx in advance

| The pin should have some sort of shark fin looking thing the keeps it seated into the plastic plug hole. A small flathead screwdriver is enough to push that fin down to pop out the pin.

| Not Ranked : 0 score ^+1. yeah pins are always barbed, try to compress the barb/barbs with the small glasses repair type screwdrivers while maintaining pressure on the pin to get it out. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Well it turns out I have to send my Standback back to CPE to get it upgraded.I bought it from a guy who swore up and down it was a version2 even emailed me a copy of the CPE invoice showing that it was upgraded. But after the wire problem yesterday I took the 2 plates off the standback and took a look at the circuit board and it has a sticker saying version1.I was wondering why it wasn't hitting my set boost,I just thank GOD that I didn't try doing any tuning yet. There's no telling what would have happened using software version2 on a standback version1,probably nothing but I'm glad I didn't have to find out.........thanx for the replies guys.

| Not Ranked : 0 score i'm pretty sure when i got the v2 upgrade they had to change memory on the board. if it was just a software update there would be no point in sending ti to them. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Not according to Jordan,I talked to him several times after buying the unit and they added a different processor to the board.Thats why you had to send it in to be upgraded. If it was just a software upgrade the CD they sent back with the Standback would have taken care of that or downloaded it off the internet which is what I was told will be done going to version3. If anybody has their standback version2 out of the car or if its fairly easily gotten to could you take off the end plates slide the board out and tell me what the sticker says?It should say StandbackV2 or some abbreviation of that but there will definitely be a 2 on the sticker....thanx to whoever can do that for me. The guys name was Selig Ting at least thats what he told me and what is on the invoice he emailed to me but he went by "ksource" over at 6club.I have saved all the emails between the 2 of us and and will try to see if the moderators over at 6Club can supply me with copies of the PM's between us and I may try to see if I can't get the post office involved since it seems to me to amount to mail fraud if I can't get him to agree to an amicable solution.
