Warranty Question on CAT Failure

So the CAT on my CP-e DP has shat the bed and I wanted to know if this is covered under a warranty or not. The DP was installed by Corksport back in 2012/2013 if memory serves me correctly and has been on the car ever since. Here is a sound clip of the pinging sound that is coming from under the car....

If you are the original owner of the DP then yes it comes with a lifetime warranty. Please email sales@cp-e.com to get the claim process started

Ultimately and honestly. No. was it worth more phone calls and more arguing when clearly you guys weren't going to budge on a verbage issue, No.

Bottom line, I am the original purchaser and current owner with original invoice still in hand, purchased a downpipe with a lifetime warranty. Then to be told that it was no longer under warranty because it wasn't a current product. I understand why the outcome was the way it was, but it was also asked that the "lifetime" was clarified to include that it only stand for current products.

my issue in this thread, is you guy have again omitted that, then clearly corrected me when i specified it, then agreed that its still that way. Don't make your warranty out to be something it isn't.

Interesting read here. Since my step dad was the original purchaser of the DP I'm having him reach out to CP-e. I'm curious to see if they deny me too now since I know this DP is a gen1 (not sure if other revisions came out after) but we bought it because it was the only DP at the time that didn't throw a CEL.

CP-e, have you guys changed the Gen Ms3 DP at all since it first went into production?

There was the original all tube cnc downpipe (what I have and purchased in 2008), original cast bellmouth, now redsigned cast bellmouth.

I wonder what they changed with the redesign. It appears from the pictures that I have one of the redesigned ones (I bought it a few months ago). I did not know a prior version existed.

The only time the warranty will come into question is if the downpipe is of the original/discontinued fabricated design and the claim IS on something that needs to be cut up or changed. i.e. the cat. If it is a reweld of cracks etc. we will accommodate on a case by case basis if we think it will last. To avoid any confusion, the discontinued design is the one without the cast bellmouth, this dp has not been sold since 2009.

My understanding is the newest version (3rd one) is the best parts of the last two. And with the redesign, it got their coating.
