Default Cobb AP Installed NO Knock

I thought I would post a positive comment for once about my impressions of the Cobb Access Port. I have a 2008 MS3 GT with app. 22K on it. I have had my CPE Nano, and HKS SSQV for about 3-4 months. I decided to go ahead and purchase a Cobb AP now. 1) I got a great deal on a used AP 2) I need some logging capabilities, and 3) I am looking forward to the ATR software.


After the Installation, I noticed a nice HP kick from the car. I drove it pretty conservative for about 50 miles, and then unleashed it. Very impressed with the feel. Logged data on the drive home yesterday, and on the way to work this morning.

Absolutley No Knock at all. Boost is holding well, and car runs like a champ. I am running the Stage1+SF 93 v103 Map right now..

Very happy with the AP, and the ability to log....

I have the same mods (brand name and everything) plus a test pipe. I'm running the same map and I have no issues with knock either. I occasionally get something as high as 2.1.... but that's not something to worry about.

I am very happy to be "The Freak"

After reading all the Horror stories of KR, blown engines, blah, blah, I was getting concerned, but like I said, I am happy my car is a freak.....

u just jinxed yourself... haha

every map ive tried once i hit 4800 rpm the kr just climbs

ive seen 6.8.. soo loud

but the last few days i am confident in saying not all the kr recorded by our car is real. i get .7-1 counts of kr just by blipping the throttle while heel to toeing. which wont happen if your not under any load

ya im trying a new custom map its not nearly as agressive but i only get sporadic kr only up to 3 degrees now. which is nice that i can step on it for the first time in 5 months.

its bullshit

Are you stay within Cobbs boost targets with HKS SSQV? No high spikes?

Yes, havent seen any major boost spikes, I will see 19 at times when i am on it hard, but for a very short time... Boost levels are normal so far. I am going to do some more logging this week, and will check again..

with my AP I have only logged blips of KR around +/-2 deg. at partial throttle cruise, never WOT KR . Do I get to be in the club? Oh did I mention I am running 93oct on a 91 map?

And to you guys who seem to think that the ATR will allow you to erase KR with just a few keystrokes...I doubt it will be that easy.

the 93 oct maps seem to be very agressive, so now I too am running a 91 oct map and 93 oct fuel. KR hasnt been an issue since flashing this map.

Still waiting on PG to get upgraded fuel pumps.... once that is installed I think my car will run perfectly and this will be the map I can stick with permanently.

For me there is no choice-- I have a cali model MS3 and they don't make a 93oct stage 2 OTS map for it.

I have a PG maxflow pump waiting to install (post recall) as well. At the moment the lowest I have seen my WOT fuel pressure get is around 1400psi.

I'm getting the same thing. No knock at all. It must be the weather we're having here in Dallas. Saturday was one of our hottest days since I've had my AP but didn't think to datalog at all. However, I do get spikes of 20.x psi on the stock bpv.
