Turbo_Steve's Valve Cover and HPFP cover review 17 Attachment(s) As many of you know, @Turbo_Steve; has been playing with fabrication of parts for us. He's also working to get vendor status here, and this thread will move there once established. I have received and installed the covers. These are aluminum panels that were powder coated wrinkle black. Initial review was of packaging. Packed nicely and no scratches. Both coated panels were plastic wrapped. Then they were wrapped in enough material to keep it immobilized in the box. Color instructions are nice and ended up easy to follow. Attachment 214735 Attachment 214736 Attachment 214737 For the install, total time was 15 minutes including pics and backing out my car. Before Attachment 214738 Attachment 214739 Attachment 214740 Because my piping is protege garage v1, it's own fitment is pretty much butthole. But I was able to remove the coil pack bolts without removing the hot pipe. Attachment 214741 Hardware consists of Allen bolts, a washer, a spacer, and a little rubber o-ring that just holds it in place for install which is great, when all 4 are hanging prior to install. Attachment 214742 Attachment 214745 Attachment 214746 Installed quickly. I slid into place, lining each bolt with the coil pack prior to tightening any. Attachment 214747 Attachment 214748 Hpfp was cake too. Same thing as before. Remove bolts, put plate and hardware on. This one used 2 spacers, but the little o-ring kept it right. Installed in a couple minutes. Attachment 214749 Fitment was spot on. I bet others will have a lot more clearance than I do. Attachment 214750 Covers the coil mess and looks clean. Not sure if this counts as another modification I have installed, but I'm claiming it. 6 now. Attachment 214751 Attachment 214752 Attachment 214753 Look for @Turbo_Steve; to be a vendor soon under Adapted Performance. |
Looks good! Nice writeup. Only sad part is the mazdaspeed logo is partially covered with this charge piping. I will offer versions with no logo cutout as well & lots of color options. Thanks! |

Need me one of those sets in red with the mazda speed logo. It will be easier to install on mine with the fmic piping routed under the engine. This looks really good. |
I need one in MattDamond gold. looks good |
That is sweet. |
Is it possible to do a smaller mazdaspeed logo and align it to the left? Looks great though. |

Wow those really look good for engine dress up I like them but the only problem is that those of us who have TMIC won't get the benefit of this nice piece of work! Great work Steve! |
I do want to follow up that it passes the wheel hop/spin test with the JBR high duro trilogy mounts. Had some fun, wheels spun, a little hop in 2nd and no banging heard or damage seen after. |
