WARNING: Precision Turbo and Engine (PTE) Precision Turbo and Engine has deemed themselves the worst possible business that I could ever deal with. For a business of "such success" The way they handle things in customer relations is absolutely terrible. Not only did they loose my turbo that I shipped out for warranty on the 17th, even though they SIGNED FOR IT on the 21st of May. (Mind you a turbo that didn't even last 300miles brand new out of the box) just to finally figure out that they "found it" on the 28th and it was JUST going into the service department. Yet no rush in fixing the mistake that they made by misplacing it. No attempt to fix anything or even expedite the warranty process because of there fuck up. But I'm shit out of luck and have to deal with it, right. So regardless of all these problems I still bought another turbo from them A BB 5858 as appose to the JB 5858 I had previous, that failed. 1500$ I spent on a separate turbo. A wholeeee new turbo, So my DAILY DRIVER doesn't have to be down while the blown turbo is out for warranty. Not only did I NEVER get a tracking number on a 1500$ item but when I did receive it the turbo was WRONG. It had the wrong compressor housing. (No big deal right). Get ahold of the right people and PTE claims the compressor housing is out on Wednesday the 27th, the same day I received the turbo...Once again never received a tracking number and asked if they could over night it. That entire week, no tracking and no housing...Monday this week, no tracking number and no housing. Today I get a tracking number just to find out that it wasn't shipped until yesterday. Monday the 2nd of June. I don't give a shit how good people think there business is or what kind of reputation PTE has. Idc if you've always had good things to say about them.I for one will never recommend another product or service from PTE that's for damn sure. :wtf1: End rant. |
Maybe it's because you are a scumbag? |

King Scumbag does not approve. |
Real sorry to hear about your problems, man. I've heard bad stories about damn near every turbo you can put on this car, but to have two screw-ups in a row, and on top of that, just show a complete lack of respect for the customer's time, that's unacceptable. The funniest thing for me is that they're trying save like $1.00 on tracking for a $1500 turbo that's way overdue to a frustrated customer. |
I'll send you a blown K04 loaner to get you by. |
Wait are you the KingScumbag from the videos on MS3 owners on facebook? |

The fact that your BT daily driver is patiently waiting on them to kindly repair and ship back your turbo to you in under 2 weeks (the time frame it took for you to get fed up and buy another turbo), made me giggle. I do feel for you whole heartedly because I've been there and done that with daily drivers, but a part of me can't help but feel that you should have planned for the worst case scenario. It's the reason that all the MSF vendors have grown the customer service reputations that they have. Which brings me to my next question... Why didn't you order through edge or deal through them? Or did I miss something about them somewhere? |

Fuck Facebook Mazda groups. Full of AIDS. That's why PTE hates you too. |

I did buy a new one because I knew the warranty process was going to take a while. I didn't expect it to be done in "two weeks" at all. That's not why. I wanted to switch over to DBB to hopefully prevent any future problems. The BB 5858 was ordered through edge. They failed to even update them with tracking and info day in and day out. EDIT: I also forgot to add, when I did receive the housing. I didn't recieve the right back plate brackets. When they were contacted we were told that the housing wasn't going to work with the 3" housings back plate. They knew this whole time that I was swapping a 3" housing for the ported 4" housing even though they knew it wasn't going to work yet still sent it lol They did however overnight me a whole new turbo with the right setup. After fedex "claimed" to have "attempted" to deliver it twice and no one was home. I was sitting in the window waiting... |
Big flag of "2 weeks" should have had you concerned. Damn. |

Next time, order the turbo through Edge. If there was an issue with the compressor housing, it would've been on Edge. Unless they had to drop-ship it from Precision. Then you're just SOL. |

Then second turbo was ordered through edge and everything was drop shipped. |
Shoulda gone with a Garrett. |

My friend had a precision that went out on him twice within 1-2k miles each time then precision decides it was his motor causing the turbo to fail. He swapped it on the second time to service with a borg warner and never had another issue. At least precision was kind enough to warranty it but it was obvious the turbo itself had issues. |
Fedex only employs ninjas. |
Just like the Miata, two weeks is always the answer. |
A little update on this. Called PTE since I have not heard back about the warranty at all. Talked to them and he takes down my info and puts me on hold. He gets back on the phone and says "Oh they just submitted to me the findings paperwork today"....OK So he proceeds to ask me about everything that was going. I told him how the turbo was Pouring oil out of the outlet and how everything was set up correctly. Correct feed size, drain line, CHRA orientation and etc. He tells me that the findings were to be scoring on the bearings most likely caused by "debris in my oil". I haven't had debris in my oil since maybe 600miles during break in. I ran the BNR to almost 2500miles on the new build with 0 issues. Never once have I had any "debris" in any of my changes after 6-700 miles. Even putting the oil through a sifter while draining it. So I explained how it wasn't possible especially after running a smaller JB turbo at the same levels of boost and not having any issues until I installed that turbo and would like to see their data on it. He told me "Well ok, I will consult with our technicians more about it and get back to you, Have a nice day" So I'm getting the blame and they have to look into it further? WTF? |

So let's get this straight here, it's been how many weeks now since you sent that POS back to them and attempted to get it warrantied? I can't believe you're the one that has to call them at this point to get this information. They should have contacted you when they made this supposed "diagnosis", which BTW sounds like a load of horseshit. |

That is basically what they kept telling my friend (see earlier post here) I will never buy their product |
Good thing I went Garrett...... oh wait. |
Still have not received that call he was going to "return in a couple of hours" ....yesterday.. |
Update: just received this email from Justin Norris at PTE. http://i.imgur.com/E8Hxf2Vl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/D6tPsXEl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/1XWiOLql.jpg Thoughts? There is definitely a mark there for sure but I'm not believing for a second that this caused complete failure...where is the "debris" shit should have still been in that turbo. As soon as it failed the car was shut down and trailered home. Regardless I'm not paying for this turbo to get fixed. They can send this turbo back to me still fucked up for all I care right now. |
WARNING: Precision Turbo and Engine (PTE) Link em to this thread. Ask for the evidence backing up their claim. Shoulda gone with a bnr. Haha. Scumbags. |

If there was going to be ANY debris to take down the turbo it Would have been then... |
Received an Email from PTE again today. Manager approved a warranty replacement. now we wait to see how long it takes for me to get it. |

Lon story short. The speed is off the road. One thing after another after another. Valve seals in the wrong places i.e. Exhaust seals in the intake side and vise versa (machine shop). And some ugly sounds coming from the cylinder head. Car rips through 3 quarts of oil in 3 days. It's been retired and I have been driving my GFs car. At this point I'm not really sure which way I want to go with things. A. Strip it to the frame and part it out. B. Just have a new head done. C. Sell or trade it. D. Find the time and $ to rip out the motor and bring it up to @Justin@Freektune; and see what he finds or magic he can work. Also forgot to mention idk if y'all know but I have been running the BNRS4 for some time now and have sold both PTE turbos since. |
Quote:
I vote for option B. And when the fuck did the S4 happen?? Thoughts? Ive been scoping it out for my future build. |

Never got around to finishing the tune. It was pretty awesome to say the least. I never even plugged any logs into anything because I was constantly buried under the hood. Hoping to bring the motor up to Justin some time before the end of the winter. |
