Default Cold weather p2096 turned into p0138

Had this problem with 2096 code for about 2 year but only in the winter .. Finally fixed ( I think ) .. Changed rear o2 sensor multiple time .. ( not fixed) changed hp rail valve ( not fixed ) cleaned maf ( not fixed ) car got shitty mpgs and was sluggish .. Local tuning shop heat taped the down pipe and extended wires from rear o2 sensor so we can use the secondary o2 bung before the cat provided in the cobb dp. They wanted to get the sensor warmer so yes I have both sensors next to each other before cat . Well it worked for a while until something happend with the harness they made to extend the rear o2 . Started getting p0138 high voltage input in rear sensor .. After doing some research I found out a 06 mx5 has same o2 connectors as ms3.. Located a a compony that made an extended harness for a mx 5.. Installed it today and no cel anymore .. Any one els have this problem with a cold rear o2?
