Just bought a 2008.5 GT

Just bought this 2008.5 GT from DC, Maryland. So far am I love with it! I love how it's a 4 door hatch and the torque! Passing slow traffic is so easy! My only complaint is the Bose radio system. It has a mind of its own. I don't if this common or is there a problem with my amp. The bass goes away at random and if I turn up the volume it sounds like it goes sounds down. Well here are some pictures. It's all stock!

I really don't understand all the hate for the Bose system. Mine has never given me trouble and sound fantastic.

The audio problem is common with 08.5's. It's not the amp but the headunit needs to be replaced. It's covered by TSB # 09-014/08. Try printing out the below and taking it to a dealer to have it replaced under warranty. If your not under warranty then it's worth a try anyways.

Either have really sensitive ears, or don't know what a real stereo sounds like. And I don't mean just loud. All of my amps are always turned down so the stereo is mostly working off the recommended rms power where the sound is crystal clear. I blew my blose on the way home from purchase of vehicle just so it would annoy me more and make me upgrade faster.

Maybe the music you are listening to just isn't what Bose tuned the system for. I listen to a lot of electronic music (Deadmau5, Daft Punk, et. al.) and the "Blose" handles it quite well. Sure the mids a a bit lacking, but I don't have any major complaints. It's one of the best stock systems I've ever heard.

Go to beatport.com, that's the stuff the gets played in my car most days. My 2002 Golf "Monsoon" HU and speakers put out way better sound, much deeper bass. I owned both cars at the same time so it was easy to compare.
