Default Plasti-Stockers Black

So , I was bored and decided to buy a couple rattle cans of some black plasti-dip this weekend and paint over the stockers to see how it would look. I can say that it looks nice with the flat black look. And the fact that it peels off, is even better.
I like how irish's powder coated rims look, so thats what drove me to give this a try.

Took a while to actually cut the tape over the center cap emblem, was a pain in the ass for sure, but, with 7 coats on, they look pretty damn good.

You actually don't need to do this with plastidip, just spray on and rip it off!
Looks good btw.

Well, if you just rip it off, it will take everything around the emblem with it. I tried haha.
As for it getting greyed out, well, there IS some clear coat as well. I could have done this.
But like i said i wanted to try it out, and see how it holds up. On a plus side, plasti dip is pretty resilient it seems, and if need be i could just toss another coat on to clean it up i guess. We shall see.

here is what mine turned out like after a couple days and a wash.

now they are pretty grey, and my front passenger rim needs to be re-sprayed due to the dip being ripped up by some branches in the woods.

I still think it looks good, fuck who cares .

Maybe try lookin into that clear coat shit they have, spray it on after your done with the black. Worth a try too.
I like the stock rim, i dont know why. If i could go slammed on stockers, id ride with them forever.

I dipped my wheels and used the metalizer as well.

It came out okay. Not as even as I want it, and I borderline dont want to put my rx8s back on because of it. I did do one wheel with the Duplicolor clear over the dip and the surface is much more smoother versus the tackiness of the dip on the other wheels.

I've only done 4 wheels with plasti dip and after the first two I was really disappointed with the texture. Rough, not glossy like everyone seems to get. Then I sort of got to thinking about ventilation and dry dip flying back up. As it was, I was laying the wheels flat on the ground with no place for the excess to vent. Stood the other 2 up against a wall on a 45 and they came out perfectly smooth.

I figured out the same thing.

My two rear wheels look much better than my fronts. In fact I redid one of my front wheels because of the amount of texture I got on the front two wheels.

They look decent from afar. They look kind of blegh up close.

yes you need to spray them upright or else the paint globs up from spraying down creating a bumpy feel
