(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score That said.... I have already gotten very annoyed by the factory navi HU. Most times none of the buttons work. I can use the volume knob to work the volume, but it wont turn off the system. Luckily I can still control the radio with the steering wheel. Also, our first tank was only 250 miles on the nose. 14mpg ftl...... But Im hoping with a little maintaince (and maybe a mod or 2 ) we can squeeze out the 18mpg we were hoping for. This is our first crossover, our first Mazda, and our first f/i motor, and the Cx7 has been a fun fun ride to drive thus far. As long as I don't run into any of the issues Ive already researched, and can improve any on the mileage, we'll have this vehicle for a LONG time! |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Well.... if you ask my wife... at any given moment we're in the wrong VA!! She has a thing for Crosslanes, WV for some reason. I can't figure it out, but I think it has something to do with that damn casino around those parts

| Not Ranked : 0 score Welcome! 14 MPG, you are AWD for sure. Expected. 91+ octane will help a lot, too. As for the nav, it gets a lot disabled while moving. I recommend donating $10 for VIP. There is a download for the latest NAV disc if you are technologically able to do it. It will also open up to a lot more information, too. If you can locate the ground for the Nav unit, and ground the wire to the chassis, it will make the unit think you are not moving, and go 10% off GPS, and you can enter info while moving. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks for the info Raider. I certainly plan on making the $10 donation..... any (good) info for a newb is worth it imo. Im a Mustang guy, and know my way around other vehicles a little bit, but this is a whole new game to me.... As for the Navi.... My issue is not being able to change to the radio/sat screen. First thing when I fire up the car, I (we) try to change the screen, nada.... It could be like this all day, or 20 mins, then all of a sudden I can do w/e I want! Anyhow, Im gonna scroll through the forum and soak up everything I can before I start making any particular threads. I just threw out my intitial concerns with the vehicle, but no real complaints here

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yikes! Have you brought this to the attention of the dealer? Might be worth pressuring for a replacement. heck, maybe the Nav DVD is scratched or something. It is under the passenger seat. Pull it all the way up, remove the 3 screws on the protective plate, and eject the disc. Blow some canned air into the unit, and check the disc out. |
