Im new to this forum and from previous vehicles I find forums to be extremely helpful.

I recently got a 2007 CX-7 from a family member with 92k on it. she did not drive it much and she also didn't do much for maintenance beside the usual oil changes. im trying to do as much research as possible on what I should be doing to bring it up to speed. it runs and drives great. a lil bit of chatter from the engine but I cant tell if its the timing chain or valves and its only at idle. either way it isn't affecting performance from what I can tell but I have only had this thing a week. any tips or leads to threads I may find useful would be great. thanks.

Welcome, congrats on the purchase.

If you have access to any service history, look for record of the VVT being replaced or not. If it has not been replaced, that is likely the source of the chatter.

hahahaha howdy! and ill check into the VVT. but I doubt it was replaced. she is the original owner kept all the paperwork so ill check tonight. thanks!
