Default Time to kill the cx7?

Well, as much as I hate to have to be here asking yet again another question, sadly I am.

So the vvt is done on the cx7 (about a month ago or so.)

Now recently this knocking started, seems to start off louder when it's colder out and not as loud when it's warmer. However extended use of the car in hot or cold weather ends up just as loud. Sounds like it's coming from the valve cover.

Could I be so lucky to get hit with a second bad vvt? No codes or power loss at all just the noise. Also I'm not hearing the rattle at startup that I heard with the first vvt.

if this is another terminal issue i plan to set a bag of poop on the driver seat and roll the bitch into the dealers lot for purposely screwing me on this car. Although I will admit fixing it has been a fun learning point for me but the money spent is outrageous.
