370Z

I was just coming home for the evening and a 370Z chased me down. He wanted to play, but I was on a cold motor and didn't want to give it much. I let him take the roll from the dig and followed him another 3 or so miles down some twisty two-lane stuff. We were both coming down a big hill that meets a highway. I normally turn right at the bottom of the hill to head to my complex, but he was going left. I hung behind him and he moved over and let me into the left lane. The light was green and we rolled through the light, just the two of us.

We are going at 30 side by side and we both punched it. I jumped out ahead about a car, hit 3rd and pulled another half car, I managed to hold the 1.5 car lead on him until the top of 4th and then he started pulling on me, somewhere around 80-85 he pulled even, I was in fifth and by 100 he had pulled past and put a car on me. He really had a TON of top end and started moving like a freight train at about 75-80 mph. I let off at 100, flashed my lights and pulled off to make a U-turn to head back to my complex.

tl:dr took on a 370Z with no visible or audible mods, had him to about 80, then got walked on the top end to 100.

First time I've gotten beat. I don't normally pick a race I don't think I can win and this one was close, but a loss. Guess it's time to throw on some more mods. I'm stock for power.

That's how Z's are, they have a lot of top end power.

All u need is an intake hpfp and CobbAP and some Ethanol 50/50! Then come tackle him

Yep, I have more than just an hpfp and an AP, but there's a lot of truth to that. You can get close to the 300 mark with internals and an AP. With a good intake and test pipe, you can do it for sure.

I'm putting down 100+ more hp/tq at the wheels compared to my pre-tuning setup. I'd walk that 370 for days...

I've a spare FP with autotechs sitting in it, just been waiting on the cash to buy an AP, intake, and pay for a tune, before installing it all.

Gotta work on it a bit longer, maybe before summer hits.

If Z's had more torque they would be monsters. A guy at work has a '12 Nismo. It's rated at 350hp and 275tq if I remember correctly. Not bad for an N/A 6, but I think they should have them boosted from the factory. I venture on the 370z forums sometimes. The money it takes for them to make even remotely good gains performance wise is crazy.

My Gf has a 370z, and the car parts are so much more expensive. Top Secret CBE goes for 9000$ if I remember correctly. Intakes are in the range of 500-600$, but they are dual. Modding a 370z and modding a Speed are completely two separate ball parks money wise.

I can confirm intake, hpfp, test pipe and 50/50 e85 and you will eat 370z alive. I ran one down in my tank that cut me off in LA and the look on his face was worth the 10 dollars in gas I burned.

Well I know this much... I can eat a stock tune MS3 alive while my car goes full retard because I forgot to turn off TC when I couldn't hook in 3rd, and I wasn't expecting a race on my way home from work.

Now if only I had stuck to the road and my car didn't fall on its face 3 times... The rape would have been felt around the world.
