(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score LC-2 wideband wiring into stock ecu is complete... pretty clever really. The idea is that Corvettes do not have an EGR system, but other engines in the same family do, so the ECU has that pin "open" on the ECU. You could still datalog "EGR valve frequency", but with no wire/input it's just going to read zero. So I wired one of the analog outputs of the LC-2 to that pin on the ECU. Obviously the ECU won't "know" it's a wideband signal or be able to do anything with it logic wise, but the ability to datalog true AFR with RPM and other parameters is convenient. The signal just comes in as a voltage value that the ECU again doesn't really know what to do with, but thankfully with EFILive you can create custom PIDs and units, so it's easy to convert that to an AFR readout. Still don't have a good full gear datalog to see where AFRs are. I did do a quick test before I had it wired into the ecu and in 2nd gear I was getting 13.0:1 AFR. Probably sounds lean for you guys, but that's pretty standard for bolton LS1/6. Still planning on hitting up the dyno tomorrow. Last edited by aaronc7; 09-21-2015 at 12:28 PM. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score What's the price point on that cnc program? A lot of people on the forum seem to bitch about the smell of catless systems but my ms6 has been catless for years and I can live with it in my daily. Are they just pussies or is a high valve overlap v8 really that smelly? Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score $995 for the full cnc port job. AI and TEA seem to be the really highly rated and cost around the same. Texas speed/PRC has one too, it's around $800 I wanna say. Of course for me I'm going to get uprated springs and some other goodies while I have the heads off and to support the cam install. http://www.advancedinduction.com/LSX...cGMLS2Head.php Smell isn't that bad really. I'm still on stock cam, but the LS6 cam is pretty aggressive for a stock cam anyways. Maybe a lil stronger than my MS3 or Miata was. It's noticeable, but I don't mind it or it does not bother me. I was idling in the garage for 10-15 minutes earlier tweaking some of the wideband stuff and I survived, lol. With a cam, naturally it's just going to depend on how much overlap it has. I really don't have a lot of good info for ya here.... It seems like some are just a lot more tolerant to the smells than others, which is why you see opinions all over the spectrum. If this car were a DD I'd probably lean towards running cats, especially with a 'larger' cam, but that's just me. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score 390 right on the money with my guess. Have you come across any good data in 1 3/4 vs 1 7/8 headers debate? Everyone seems to preach 1 3/4 for "low effort" cars. A whole lot of circle jerking on the vette forum and its hard to find helpful technical data compared to msf. Everyone has their 2 cents to throw in without much basis. Maybe I just haven't picked up on who the real technical gear heads are yet. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

I went with 7/8" because I had a feeling I was going to be wanting at least heads/cam down the road and a lil bigger might help. But as you can see in my dyno I don't think I'm really giving up any low end due to the larger primaries? I certainly didn't feel any losses at all. I say go with 7/8" if you get Kooks or ARH. I'd probably opt for 3/4" if I did LG to get the super long primaries. | |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Just the H/C for now... intake at a later date perhaps. But I could always cave and get a FAST 92 now, you never know. From a tuning standpoint it makes the most sense to get it all done and over with once, but after H/C there seems to be a steep decline in powah/$$ value. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Had a pretty productive day-off-from-work Monday. Removed the old cam..... in with the new cam, Melling oil pump, LS2 timing chain and damper. Most annoying part of it all was getting the steering rack out of the way (you can see it hanging off to the side in a pic or two). And breaking the crank bolt loose was a little sketchy.... 1/2" drive ratchet + 3 foot breaker bar handle (aka floor jack handle), but it came out with no drama. Still waiting for my replacement crank pulley/harmonic balancer to show up, so I can't do a whole lot more until that's here or else I'd start putting back together whatever I could. 235 ft-lbs torque spec is gonna be interesting too. Heads off and shipped out last week: Last edited by aaronc7; 09-21-2015 at 12:32 PM. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score In the grand scheme of things this is pretty mild and very common etc. Beyond the mods I'm doing (other than intake manifold, maybe) NA mods are pointless and very small gain for more and more $$$. So really this will be about it for power mods. Next up I want to get some better tires, I may pull the ones I have off now and try to sell them since they are barely worn, rather than living iwth them for the next 20-30k miles or whatever. I'll probably need a clutch at some point, but I don't even wanna think about the work and labor involved in that.... just hoping my stocker lasts awhile!!!! Other than that I just want some track day seat time! |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score The shop doing my heads hit me up yesterday and I should be getting them back next week.... Hoping to get it all back together next weekend, assuming I don't run into any issues. Going to clean the deck surface and bolt holes today so shit's ready to bolt on for the weekend. Also got some HIDs and LEDs to install, hellz yeah!!! |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I think we may need to rename this thread to the C5Z Rice Build..... Installed projector headlight housings w/ HIDs, front clear corners with LEDs, LED license plate bulbs, LED tail lights.......... high beam LEDs on the way. Will snap some pics once the car is driveable and out of the garage again. In other news, I've spent hours cleaning the deck surface, piston tops, bolt holes and installed the lifters/trays..... heads are ready to bolt on once I have them back in my possession. (Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Heads arrive today.. it's going to be a mad dash to install them, measure for required pushrod length, and order some pushrods via amazon prime overnight shipping, so I can get this thing back up and running before I leave town on Saturday. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Heads are here and on the car.....tired from the torquing sequence lol. Turns out I need shorter than typical pushrods, so the size I need are not on Amazon, etc... so I'm not going to get some with overnight shipping and try to wrap this up before the Holidays.
