Just ordered an AEM Infinity-6 EMS along with a 5 BAR MAP, IAT sensor, and UEGO wideband.

Next, I'm also going to order a plug and play jumper harness from Tweaked Performance for my Aristo/SC300 hybrid harness > Infinity-6 EMS.

Also installed a new driveshaft adapter plate w/ new bolts as well.

In the meantime as I wait for the EMS to get here, I have a list of things to do:

Replace valve cover gaskets
Replace Spark Plugs & Wires
Custom Battery Tray
Install better hose clamps on intercooler piping/couplers
Custom 3.5" Exhaust with cutout
Install Aluminum Coolant Reservoir/Overflow Tank
Reseal Oil Pan (has developed some leaks)
Clean MAF

Wow, I LOVE 97+ SCs. Yeah, everyone seems to love the S366 turbos because they flow pretty well up top and spool up quick on these engines. Were you running an R154 as well? What exhaust manifold were you using? I've been looking at the Doc Race manifolds

And what were you using to tune? AEM EMS?

I was running the Toyota Soarer R154. Its what the JDM Soarers with 1JZGTE's came with. I was running a custom tubular manifold. Paid $550 for it off of the supraforums

Yeah, I waited to try and get my hands on a soarer R154 because the shifter would've lined right up with my SC, but I couldn't find one at a decent price. I got the MK3 one for $500 and it was freshly rebuilt. I need to get the shifter housing extended though. And that manifold looks nice, almost like a coated quicksilver manifold. I can see why you miss it..

Picked this Holset H1C. The previous owner bought it brand new from Dodge, and I bought it from him for $400. The max flow of this turbo is around 59-60 lbs/min, with the efficiency range being around 52 lbs/min, so the flow isn't amazing, but the reason I got this turbo is because of the larger free flowing hotside. DSMs with BC 272s with the turbo get 20 psi by 3200-3400 RPMS. I'm hoping with an additional 2 cylinders, I should be able to get to 20 psi by 2800-3000 RPMs (and even quicker with a cutout/y-pipe and screamer pipe).

So after closer inspection of the paint job, it is complete shit. There are rough areas (like the mirrors) where they didn't make an effort to pull it off and paint it separately. I've also found bubbles in the paint all over the entire car. The bumpers are also not lined up 100%.

I've dropped the car off at a specialty body shop that does custom fiberglass/metal/molding, and am going to have them rework the entire body. They will also extend the fenders (roll/pull more as well so I can fit a 275 tire on there) another 30-40mm and re-paint the entire car a metallic deep pearl blue (lexus paint code is 8U1).

Got all of these parts in yesterday and drove them straight to Kaizen Motorsports (where my car is at)

They are in the process of putting together a raychem milspec Infinity-6 harness for my setup right now, and then will remove the oem twins and install this turbo, manifold, wastegate and an E85 fuel system including a dual pump fuel hangar with AEM pumps:

On another note, I put this project on hold to jump on an opportunity to buy a MS6. Has 170k miles, so there's a few things that need fixing/replacing already:

VVT Chain (slapping hard at start-up)
Intake Valve Cleaning
Wheel Bearing (Front Passenger)
K04 is smoking (will most likely build motor and go big turbo)

Yeah, he sent me a text asking if I was interested. I didn't even know he had an MS6 until he told me he was selling it. It's high mileage, but there are pages and pages of recorded maintenance done to this thing. Just need to get a new chain and actuator installed and new wheel bearings and it will drive so smooth.

Thats cool. Yea i was thinking of buying it since i got my settlement check from my accident, insurance paid me for my benz and is paying my medical fees. I bought another miata instead. Paid off bills and saved some. Glad to see if went to good hands tho. And your sc build coming along too.

The car will be put on the dyno pretty soon to get some solid numbers on 91 octane (on stock twins). Once the car has a good drivability tune on the standalone, I'm going to bring it on home and take the head off and rebuild it with cams, intake port job, and stiffer springs/larger valves, next will be getting the single turbo/manifold/EWG installed and also get custom downpipe work done as well.

I'll also be picking up this LSD next month from a Club Lexus member in Phoenix, which is a 4.08 which was used in the MK4 Supra auto turbo models (my current OEM diff is a 3.769 open diff)

I've been really busy with school and work lately, so here's another pretty big update on the project. Picked up a Hypertune Intake Manifold with ID 2000cc 14mm injectors and 103mm throttle body.

Only things really left to get now are an OS Giken triple plate clutch kit along with a powerhouse racing dual fuel pump hangar and FPR/E85 lines, etc. Oh, and some type of CAN/BUS tach display as well.

The spool time shouldn't be that bad. I'm building the head with all new GSC components, porting the intake and exhaust ports > 2mm oversized, converting to shimless buckets, decked head, and a 4 layer headgasket. With the larger ports and larger valves, I'm hoping to hit 30 psi by 4200 RPMs. I've seen guys who have run a GT42 turbo and wait until 5500 RPMs to hit full boost. That's far too much lag IMO. Without a built head, they can only safely take it up to 7300 RPMs before doing damage to the head in the long run. That's not much of a window to play with by the time boost kicks in.

However, the main reason I'm going all out on the head is because I want to rev it up to 8800 RPMs to squeeze as much as I can out of the 4088R. In doing this, it's a plus that I can squeeze in and out more CFM per compression stroke which should definitely help with lag/spool time. Also, with the built head, it will last a hell of a lot longer even with redlining the motor up that high. Thankfully, the piston rings can handle it as well.

Thanks to the shitty shop that did the swap and previous work on my car, I've got some extra dollars that I need to spend fixing shit that they completely fucked up.. As you can see below, the wiring harness was rubbing badly on the tire, doors were not lined up 100% after the body work was done (these doors are notorious for being very heavy, and if the hinges aren't adjusted, they can cause the doors to begin to sag, ultimately causing the inside of the door to rub against the front fenders), a ghetto transmission mount had chunks of metal cut off in order to fit the bolts in, and instead of extending the shifter housing, they simple cut a new hole next to the original auto shifter access hole and just put dynamat over the original hole. You'll also notice the bent and uneven ABS lines, horrible downpipe and exhaust piping welds, and tires that are left with no tread (I only drove the car for about 500 miles before sending it out East to my buddy in CO).

He's going to take care of all of these issues, and then some. Just can't believe that I was a victim to a shop's horrible shortcut ethics.

And yes, that's an S13 downpipe.

Nope, my buddy who has the car initially knew these guys via the So Cal drift scene, but didn't know about their horrible work until after seeing their work on my SC. He's pretty pissed off as well knowing that these guys advertise as being one of the top drift car shops around. Lesson learned I guess

Finally shipped the LSD and diff housing out to him, he immediately installed it the next day. Still waiting on my OS Giken Twin Disk clutch kit from JP

Also, I had him take apart the trans while it was out. 2nd gear's synchro was a bit worn, so I went ahead and just got that replace. A thrust bearing was also shot to shit, so got that taken care of as well. But all in all, the rest of the transmission looked great, so I feel pretty solid about throwing the torque through the trans now

Picked up a set of pretty wide wheels that I'm going to run, they are SSR GT3 3 piece wheels 19x11.5 in the front, and 19x13.75 and in the rear. Currently, they have stretched tires installed, but I'm planning on installing Nitto NT01s (325s in the rear). I'll be getting these powdercoated with a pearl white, and re-polishing the lips and leaving them chrome.

Missileworks also got all of the chassis harness cleaned up in the rear of the car, leaving only 8 necessary wires.

Also got the interior all sprayed, the floor and lower front half was sprayed with black bedliner, and the upper half was sprayed with a pearl silver.

Have a custom floor panel/ECU and igniter box made. And finally got the dash all back installed! Got all of the parts ready for the head build in, too
