(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score long story short, recent crashed laptop, bought new laptop, only windows 10 available, lost data on old laptop so unable to copy files over. restored ATR install file for my specific AP with special software and literally days of work. copied it to my new laptop and tried to install it During the install process, I get the message about not connecting to the AP. you know, the little window with the animation showing you plugging in the AP cable to the AP? I have tried Win7 and XP compatibility modes. Have tried multiple installs. have tried a few different files that are available on here. Saved my .ini file to another directory should I need it. Win 10 finds the AP as it goes thru finding the hardware and in the device manager it show it there, but with a yellow !. If you update or reinstall the driver (via the method shown on Cobbs support page) it just says that its using the latest driver but still shows the ! It did find it ONCE with AP Manager software, when it was installed in a USB 3 port, so I thought I had it. Then I read that it had to be installed in a USB2 port (v2) so I moved it over. It wouldn't even find it in AP Manager after that, and even after I reinstalled AP Manager. I know, long read, sorry. I have tried to do this on my own, as Cobb has not been very useful.I am hoping someone here knows what to do. And yes, I know I am a "brownie" for the time being, but I have clearly been on here for many years, just let it lapse for a bit.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Shoot me a pm if you are still having trouble. I work on computers and problems like this for a living. Could try remotely connecting to your computer one night and see if I can figure anything out if you would like me to. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

| Not Ranked : 0 score i plan to do the same thing on my win10 laptop today and this is how i will attempt it --I BY NO MEANS CLAIM TO BE AN EXPERT, DONT EVEN REMEMBER IF YOU NEED INTERNET TO INSTALL ATR-- and hopefully this will work... (of course i will update you if i can find the fucking old ass USB mini(micro?) cord that nothing else uses) i dont think any updates were applied after the maps were created... its happened to me a few times with old versions of shit step 1 UNINSTALL EVERYTHING INSTALLED ALREADY step 2 guesstimate last time i installed ATR last then DISCONNECT the laptop from the net, change your system date to at or before that time. step 3 install ATR offline AND AP manager. finalize, uncheck any auto updates. do desired stuff, reconnect, pray. if this method will fail somebody save me 20 minutes lol |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Never have so many of my drafting programs locked up since installing Win 10. I hate it with a passion. Good luck man.
