Default Suspension question.

I owned a 2012 ms3 a few years ago and i had stock suspension and a few bolt ons and the ride was very smooth. I just bought a 2010 completely stock and it drives and shifts perfect but the ride is noticeably stiffer than my 2012. I was just wondering what suggestions you guys would have. I'm fine with stock ride height but I just want to see what I can do to improve the ride quality.

Probably just worn out struts, shocks, end links, bushings and such. Does it make any noises? Describe, if so.

No noises or anything just feels very stiff compared to the 2012 I had.

If it’s stiffer, then prior owner probably upgraded struts and shocks or increased size of sway bars or both.

When I upgraded to Bilstein struts and shocks all around, handling improved substantially, but the ride was also much firmer. I consider this to be a vast improvement.

Also, the stock struts and shocks were pretty much shot by 30,000 miles. Maybe your former car was softer because it needed struts and shocks.

Ok that makes sense. I was looking and the corksport adjustable struts and springs or the konis, just not sure what to get because they have some mixed reviews for both. I like the handling of the car just want a smoother ride as it's going to be my daily driver.

i don't know if 2010 is using the same suspension of the first gen being first year of second gen....I owned a 2007 with stock coils but koni yellow and when i tested a 2012, i felt it was a lot more confortable than mine...i would maybe look for stock coils and try it...a lot of owner change for stiffer, they would have spare ones to sell but look more into peoples that removed them early to get good ones.
I doubt you would find anything aftermarket with more comfort than oem...

Larger sway bars usually don't mess with comfort as much as coils/shocks would do...

You may also look into tires....worn out 40 series get harsh on comfort when there is not much rubber thickness to absorb the road holes.
