K&N Typhoon + Turbo Inlet Pipe = safe with no tune?

First, can you run the K&N typhoon with the turbo inlet pipe?

Second: Is it safe to run this combo WITHOUT A TUNE?

My stage one set of mods is shifter, RMM, K&N Typhoon, and probably the turbo inlet pipe if I can do that without hurting the car running the STOCK tune

I didn't know it was called a racepipe. I was searching "inlet" "turbo inlet" etc. You'll have to excuse me, I am new to this car - it's my first import and my first turbo. I come from American muscle clunkers :-)

it's not called a racepipe - that's part of the exhaust.

there are explanations in that thread detailing that an intake or intake/TIP combo are safe without a tune

Yes, forums are 1-800-get help. When I owned my 03 SVT Cobra, it was a great FREE community where we had meet ups, cruises, install parties etc... made lots of friends for life. No one paid a dime on the forums. ChicagoSVT.com, modularfords, svtperformance.com...

Totally NOT true. I bought one for me and I am a senior, a car enthusiast, owned SI's, WRX, etc. in the past. Just read in between and there's some good stuff here. When you want multiple performance cars at my age and Bimmers, Mercedes are way out of your price league you look at bang for the buck- Mazda, Honda, Subaru, etc. I have way more fun with these cars anyway. Any other enthusiasts or seniors out there?

Don't worry about it too much.

Donating helps the site maintain a user funded base, and this is the only place that I know of that you can read unbiased reviews of parts and save a ton of $ while doing so.

As far as the tone, the guys are mostly messing around with you, so if you can get past the idea of getting razzed a bit, search when you can, and if you can't find the answer, post up the question.

Many people say no to a TIP on a stock tune, I know Cobb does. IMO, I wouldn't do the TIP w/o a tune or you can get boost creep and other shit.

If it was me, I wouldn't do either and I would get a AP. THEN get that shit.

Right - Christian told me that an SRI on a stock tune was ok, but that a TIP would cause boost spiking that the stock DI pump might not handle.

Running the CP-E TIP and the K&N Typhoon. Disconnected the battery, car had no power for the first 50 miles, then it woke up. No CEL, no problems. Going to get on the highway tonight. Turned off TSC/DSC for the first time last night and went crazy, wow that was intense! :-)

4000 miles.... 50% of front tire tread gone
