(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So I decided to install my CS SRI/TIP today. Everything was going fine until I pulled the little tube off of the boost control solenoid. I guess I went in dry and it didn't bite the pillow. The nipple on the BCV broke off with the stupid little hose. So here's a pic: So I continued my install fail and put everything where it needs to be and just left the hose hanging on the top of the TIP as I now have nowhere else to put it. I flashed the stage 1 OTS CS SRI/TIP 93 map and went for a drive. No issues no CEL so what should I do? Is this going to be a problem? I also took a 3rd gear log. FP drops only on line 88 (internals will be here Friday) Thanks for your help. todaylog.xls BTW anyone attempting this instal should be very careful with that little hose on the BCV. It didn't take hardly anything to just snap it right off..

| Not Ranked : 0 score There are tons of threads on this. Get a new part. Either oem or grimmspeed. Removal of that hose is best done by slitting the hose.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Yup thanks. My lazy non searching ass just found that out. I suppose I shouldn't drive it anymore even though it's running ok?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Aargh! This EXACT problem was discussed prolifically in one of the most read sri install how-to's, dude did same thing. Pretty sure that's your wastegate solenoid valve, and I don't think it's good idea to drive the car like that (especially in boost). IIRC, the dude payed like 100 or so bucks for a new o.e. valve

| Not Ranked : 0 score I drove my car that way. You'll be fine, just stay out of boost. I'd get the grimspeed cause it has metal nipples, which won't break, and is a better quality product. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score If your VIP get over too ms6 for sale thread and pick that kids up or call Eric or Jp from edgeautosport. Definitely get a grimmspeed as it will do everything you want and when you go big power it will help.

| Not Ranked : 0 score @gearhead750 don't worry about it, you can drive your car fine that way. i bought my car used and had it for 3 months before i put a tip on. it turns out that hose was disconnected from the stock tip the whole time. plenty of hard driving. all that hose does is release a small amount of already registered air back into the intake. now, on your car, that air is getting vented, but it's such a small amount, i think it will hardly make a difference. now, had you broken the other nipple, that connects to the wastegate, then you'd be in a more serious situation.. fwiw, i just gave my hose a little twist to get it off the bcs.. but i think the slit method is better, more foolproof, especially since i was replacing the too short stock hose with a longer one. i'd just look around for a used/cheap oem check: Online Mazda Parts Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score OEM part ordered (got a deal) should be here in a few days. So two of you guys say don't drive it and one says no problem. I would really like to drive it, but I don't want to dick anything else up....... Frustrating. And I never thought to look here prior to install because I put a CS intake on my MZ3 a year ago and it was a breeze. CS should have had better instructions/warnings on this one, kinda disappointing. This install was one of life's pleasures I could have lived without. Oh well live and learn.

I did that too, same nipple. That one goes back to the TIP. If it was the other one that goes to the WGA I would say don't drive. I super glued mine back on til my nearest dealership got one in. I stayed mostly out of boost but you're fine. I couldn't get the old BCS out without ripping the TIP out, so at least you get to practice that install again.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Are you hitting full boost without that tube? I forgot to reconnect mine once when I removed my TIP and I was only hitting 14psi until I hooked it back up.

| Not Ranked : 0 score When I did my CS SRI/TIP install I am pretty sure I saw a warning in their instructions for that hose. Maybe I just knew about from here, anywho like others have said stay out of boost until its fixed.
