PRetty much all derived from the same design, I have the F2 bsd (which GP-werks took over f2). and its has been fine for 60k in my ms3.

Baffle is also used to keep from hard conering to help keep oil at the pick up tube so you dont get a gap of air into the oil pump, and slight not oil of parts.

I'm in the same boat. Have the Sure Torq R6, Dreadnaught, and Juggernaut, but don't have a front engine mount. Is it going to be that bad?

Sorry for reviving the tread. Did mine today. 2010 ms3 sure race pass, driver, and trans mounts. My wife call it the vibrator is like a 1000GXR with cams. Do I regret it? No. Car rev faster. I will assume it will get better as I get some miles on the motor mounts.

good thread man i followed it yesterday and also put in a track grade sure RMM and the car feels great, allot more responsive and the vibration is not like everyone says it is, its a simple vibration that is only really at takeoff and at the beginning of every gear at low rpm's!

Does anyone have the measurements for the extra bolts you need? I don't want to blindly go into this without already having the bolts handy, as I can never find the right size at the hardware store (and they are usually low grade bolts too)

Just did the balance shaft delete today. I got the jbr kit which included all necessary bolts and a sturdy oil pan baffle. The hardest part of this whole procedure is scraping the gasket material off the mating surfaces, its a bitch especially with oil dripping on your face. I would not recommend this if you are newer to modification and don't have much car know-how, and I would also not recommend doing this procedure without a helping hand or two. With one person helping me the whole process was about 2 1/2 hours.

First thing I noticed was that everything was a bit more rattly, but its easy to forget about. Throttle response seems improved and it might just be a little mod-placebo, but it seems to wind through the gears a tad faster. Overall, glad I did it, not just to protect cylinder #3 , but its also the first time I've "broken the seal" on my engine since owning it.
JBR likes this.

Put your stock PMM on and the car will be fine.

So much fail from me, just sold the LBN OEM side motor mounts a week ago, and also just realized i installed the baffle on top of the original baffle. Don't think its a problem dough .

Yeah i had the middle rear view mirror do that with the JBR motor mounts, but with the BSD the side ones do it to.

I will pull this BS off at my next oil change in about 6 weeks.
Question - has anyone ever changed rod bearings or at least pulled the caps to check their existing bearings after the BS removal? Looks like they are all there and easily checked.

Back in my SVT Contour days, people would replace rod bearings if they pulled the pan. That 2.5L V6 would sometimes eat its rod bearings.

easier to get an UOA to determine if any bearing material is present in the oil in quantities that would indicate excessive wear.

Any one tried the bsd with a raised rpm at idle to minimize rattle? Say 1000.

Just got this done myself. Took the car for a short test run. No extra vibrations that I can feel yet. Went really easy on it. Good write up.

Glad the writeup is still helping folks. The vibrations will come when you add in different mounts.

Great write up.

I have Jamie's trilogy 88duro mount set and love it. Also bought the bsd/baffle around the same time but have just not installed it yet. Found this thread in preparation of doing so.... And... Well.... Wish I had seen this before I bought it with the trilogy 88duro mount set lol.

I suppose I'll try it with the mounts I already have on... But wish me luck if vibes are that intense lol. What encouraged me to buy the mount set originally was my oem pmm dying. So, if this doesn't work, I don't have a backup. Anybody got a oem pmm I can buy off you for dirty cheap? <3

I have since switched to a full cpe mount set. 70 duro for the side mounts, and the cpe stage 2 rear mount. Vibes are still there with the bsd but at a level that is acceptable to me.
