hey guys, I'm actually looking at a magnaflow exhaust right now, used. I have a test pipe already, but i can't decide if i want to pick that up, or have my resonator removed. This is purely a sound thing for me, and the magnaflow already has the bottle neck issue fixed! what do you guys think? I apologize if it seems like I'm jacking this thread, I'm just interested in hearing some feedback from guys running a magnaflow with test pipe as i haven't been able to find any. sorry again, don't hate me!!

It's all good that's what the forum is here for. I personally love my exhaust except for that bottle neck. With the catless down pipe out definitely gets louder. If purely a sound thing and going to 3" isn't your concern then just do the resonator delete for now. I heard that before and thought it sounded great as well. Just keep in mind that eventually you will want more. That's the name of this game.

Instead of slotting the dp. Just slot the gasket. The bolt holes is not where the gasket will seal anyways. Thats what i did with my flat flange turbo xs pipe

i pulled the trigger on the cutback I am very pleased with the sound, its not much different in terms of volume compared to having just my race pipe on the stock cbe, but has a much nicer and more appealing sound. Do i wish it was louder? a bit, yes. However in time ill be buying a catless downpipes, so I'm sure that will wake it up a bit!

Just did the catless on Monday and it made a big difference in volume. It's still not insane like other exhausts but I think the sound it makes is more respectable then farting down the street.

yea I've read its a bitch! i really wanna go catless and upgrade the down pipe. Im just a bit conflicted on whether or not i should. I want this turbo to last as long as possible haha and seeing how cold it gets where i live, boost spikes might be an issue, but I've also read a good tune will cut that out. For sure in for a sound clip though!

Hey, if the down pipe still isn't installed can you please measure the holes for me? I need to know if they are slotted on the exhaust side or not and what those measurements are in order to find a replacement flange that will fit it. Out would be greatly appreciated, so I don't have to Jack mine up and pull the exhaust bolts out and check.

Well I was planning to do a before and after clip of the sound but my before clip was just deleted from the gopro. If you still want to hear it after downpipe I will take another video though.

ahhaha well its appreciated man! so would you say the downpipe opens up the sound a lot? I've already got a race pipe with it, but it still sounds pretty quiet to me.

I can't really tell you because I went from stock to cbe, then went to straight catless downpipe, I never did race pipe first so I don't know what the difference would be. I do know it's definitely louder when I go through an underpass or tunnel. As well as the turbo noise inside the car sounding louder and different. it spools much faster and i get a slight bit more of a boost spike, my tune is being a pain in the ass about that and a couple other things since the change but I'm learning as i go with the tuning stuff and will eventually get that down. Basically at cold start it's noticeable, normal idle not a big difference, cruising not a big difference but some, wot you defiantly well notice the difference.

yea i read about boost spikes, it makes me a bit nervous... i really dont want this turbo crapping out on me early. But im sure a good tune will take that out. I desperately want this exhaust to be louder though. lol Also, wouldn't mind the added power too.

Dp definitely makes it louder. Spikes I got down petty good. I set my waste gate comp to high. Actually turned it off for now and when set to 20psi I may spike to 21.2 rarely.
