(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Ok so agian this install was on a gen two and i have the V2 mani so it fit easier. I wanted to wrap the mani to keep the temp down and i am glad i did. I used a 1" x 50' roll of the lava wrap that i got off ebay. It was enough to wrap the whole mani. If you do plan to wrap it than make sure you soak the wrap first and bolt the mani to something that wont move at all like a work bench. mani unwraped 1.jpg mani unwraped 2.jpg wraped mani 1.jpg wrapped mani2.jpg Ok now on to the install.. run your engine for a few minutes to warm up the stock mani. than shut off the car and PB blast the turbo and mani nuts.. Make sure you give yourself pleanty of time. It took me seven hour all by myself and with an install this involved you will run into issues.. So get all you tools together and jack the car up and put it on stands.. before 1.jpg before 2.jpg I was also doing an oil change so theres a few extra tools there. What i used 3/8 drive flex head ratchet, 14mm deep socket, 10mm socket, three different length extentions, breaker bar , 10mm 12mm 13mm 14mm cloesed end ratchet wrench, 3/8 E8 torx bit, 14mm stubby combo wrench, flat and phillip head screw driver, need nose pliers, never seize, PB blast, work gloves and other odds and ends i cant think of. tools used 1.jpg tools used 2.jpg these are the tools i use 90% of the time. its all of my 14mm wrenches What made it easy for me was take as much off as possible. Battery, sri, tip, brake booster hose, valve cover breather hose. Of coures you need to take off the tmic, the heats sheids and rear tmic bracket. car unbolted 1.jpg car unbolted 2.jpg Once everything is off make sure to stuff a towel or rag in your turbo and tb cold side tube. Dont want anything falling inside.. Now your ready to remove the mani and turbo stud nuts.. your going to need all your tools to get to the nuts since some will work better than others at reaching. this took the most time. now once they are all off there is a bracket thats attached to the stock mani that holds one of the tubo lines that has to be taken off. Its a 10mm bolt. next slide under the car and unbolt the two bottom bolts that hold the turbo bracket in place. Your going to need a breaker bar for those bitches...!!! Now your ready to remove the stock mani. I didnt remove my cowl or have to tilt the engine but i did remove as many head studs that i could easily reach. this did make removing a little easier. So you will need that E8 torx bit for this job. Now time to remove. its going to need some wiggling and it comes right off. If you removed any of the top mani studs your going to need to replace them before putting the new mani back on. some of them you wont be able to screw back in with the mani inplace. I found that if you turn the mani with the top of it facing you and the head flage facing down its will slide back easy and than just rotate to get into place. I know i made it sound easy but you will need to wiggle and work it. putting in the new one is harder than take the stock off so take your time and breath.. once the mani is on the top nuts on the left need to be screwed on first. you need to slide the mani back some to install the nuts. screw down the center nuts first than start from the out side and work your way in. next turbo nuts. i put some never seize on mine but you dont have to. the left two are easy but the right two are at a slow 1/8 turn at a time. you will need the stubby 14mm combo for this job. once those are done go back under the car and reinstall the two turbo bracket bolt. you may need a breaker bar or very large screw driver to realign the bracket. mani installed.jpg so now you can start putting you car back together. but forget to hook back up your brake booster hose, all the hoses to the intake, bpv boost line, valve cover breather hose, maf sensor, tmic rear bracket, battery and tighten those clamps.. I would look into upgrading the hot side tmic tube to silicone bc it will get hotter under that hood and the mani is closer to the tmic now as well. In closing the exhaust does sound deeper now and the turbo spools a lot quicker as well. Will be updating once i start my tune. Hope this helped and good luck.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thanks @Raider. never really planned it as being a sticky but if you think it sticky worthy than thank you very much. After finding out i remember the thread you started about making more stickies for faster easier info. I think i would have taken better pic if i know it would have been a sticky..
