How To: rear wiper delete

This is something I did with my integra back in the day.

1: remove lower hatch plastics

2: remove wiper arm(10mm nut)-




3: remove wiper motor. Unplug wire harness and remove the 3 10mm bolts-




4: pull out rubber grommet-


5: put plastics back on hatch.

6: TO BE CONTINUED. I need to go to lowes to find the right grommet to put in the hole. Thinking its a 7/8s. Until then I just put tape over the hole. Below is a pic that gives an idea of what it will look like when complete.

I got my rubber piece on ebay, but it was for a gen one so it was to big. I just cut it down then used some weather striping glue to seal it up.

IMO, the hatch looks weird with no wiper. Also, out of anything to do to the outside of this car, or any hatchback, this is probably of the lowest of the low priority ever.

Doesn't look cleaner, it looks like something is missing that should be there.

It looks a LITTLE cleaner, but with mine being my daily driver I need the wiper. Lots of water builds up back there.

I think the fact that the rear end is completely symmetrical makes it a lot cleaner.

Took mine off and looks way better and I can see out of my back window 100 percent of the time

All done. Used a 7/8 Nylon plug from lowes(2 pack-1.39).

Took mine off a long time ago. I barely use my front wipers in the desert.

True story: It rained the other day and I forgot how to fucking turn them off. Kept twisting the knob instead of flipping the entire stalk. Felt like a complete retard.

This reminds me of when guys would run a single wiper up front like the touring cars. I bet it made driving in heavy rain a pain.

Actually a lot of race cars run one big wiper. It works well and saves a little weight.

But, that is RACE CAR.

I guess you missed the 2 threads where he keeps getting rear ended by fords? lol. That sucks, but at least he hasn't been hurt and pretty sure he made some profit from selling his UR catback.

I also have the option to delete the rear emblems at a body shop for next to nothing, but agree it would look too plain. The wiper delete just adds to the plain-ness lol.

Might look much better with a really dark tint job on rear window, and all other windows for that matter. IMO.

Doesn't look bad, but I would never do this. Oddly, my rear wiper actually wipes water off the rear window somewhat frequently.

Is there a how-to on getting the rear wiper intermittent setting to be slower? I'd be up for that.
